BLIZZARD is going to use its annual Blizzcon shindig for “several significant launch announcements”, according to a Goldman Sachs investor note. Activision-Blizzard investors should expect Diablo 4, “a Blizzard mobile title” and a “possible” Overwatch expansion to move the needle on the firm’s share price, according to advice revealed on Reddit. Blizzcon is Blizzard’s biggest event of the year, with approaching 40,000 fans paying £150-£570 each for two days of announcements, panels, events, and the chance to play new and unreleased games or expansions from the house of Warcraft. This year’s event is also playing host to the Overwatch World Cup finals. Overwatch itself was announced at Blizzcon in 2014, had its release date confirmed there in 2015, and had new maps and characters confirmed alongside the formation of the all-pro Overwatch League itself in 2016 and 2017. Last year Blizzard revealed details of Battle for Azeroth, the latest World of Warcraft expansion, along with a new expansion for online card game Hearthstone.
