APPLE has been ranked as the best private company to work for in the UK.
It beat out close rivals like John Lewis, Marks and Spencer and even British broadcasting powerhouse the BBC.
The rankings, which come courtesy of Indeed.com, are ordered based on ratings from employees who worked at various companies.
This was closely followed by Wren Kitchens in second, and then GlaxoSmithKline, a global pharmaceuticals firm based in the UK ranking third.
Apple even trumped tech rival Microsoft, which came in at 23rd – behind Nando’s (6th) and Adidas (18th).
According to one former Apple sales specialist writing on Indeed.com, the fruity tech firm was an amazing place to work.
“Great teamwork work environment, fantastic corporate culture, excellent benefits,” the anonymous retail store staffer explained.
“If you love customer service and technology this is the right environment for you. It is always busy and there is always a positive buzz.
“The team are like a family and support each other.”
An Apple IT specialist said similarly positive things about working at the firm’s corporate London HQ.
“I loved every minute of working for Apple,” the tech worker wrote.
“I had an amazing work life balance and they respected my career and that I wanted to achieve things outside of the building I was in.
“I got lots of support that went over and beyond anything I could have asked for.”
Apple perks – what are the benefits like?
Here’s what Apple promises staff…
“No matter where you work at Apple, you can take advantage of our health and wellness resources and time-away programmes”
“We’re proud to provide stock grants to employees at all levels of the company, and we also give employees the option to buy Apple stock at a discount — both offer everyone at Apple the chance to share in the company’s success”
“You’ll discover many more benefits of working at Apple, such as programmes that match your charitable contributions, reimburse you for continuing your education and give you special employee pricing on Apple products”
Apple has an impressive 4.2/5 score based on 6,295 reviews on Indeed.com, with users rating salary and benefits very highly.
The lowest-rated aspect of working at Apple was job security and advancement, with 3.7/5.
So what makes Apple such a great employer, according to its employees?
Indeed’s Bill Richards said: “The difference between a good job and a great job can vary from person to person, but our ranking shows some common themes shine through.
“Companies that make their employees feel valued and offer a positive working environment score consistently highly among the reviews posted on Indeed.
“As we continue to see for many staff, work-life balance, career prospects and a great workplace culture can all mean more than a good salary alone.”
