Microsoft wants Windows 7 users to upgrade to Windows 10 as soon as possible. Over last few months, Microsoft has made several efforts to realise this – sending notifications about end of support and a compulsory March update. The only problem is Windows 7 users aren’t letting go of the ageing software. According to NetMarketShare, a tracker of online services, Windows 10 managed to increase market share from 43.62% to 44.10%. Windows 7, however, shrunk very little to 36.43% from 36.52%. Microsoft’s another older OS version, Windows 8.1, also increased its share. The latest report comes shortly before Microsoft’s big update to Windows 10. Known as Windows 10 May 2019 Update, Microsoft will be rolling out a bunch of new features, ranging from a new password policy to more controls on installing the updates.Microsoft is finally inching closer to its initial target of 1 billion Windows 10 devices.
