While developer Bungie has yet to officially reveal the new Power level cap that players will grind toward in the new Shadowkeep expansion coming this fall, keen-eyed fans have spotted some Power level numbers in some of the latest Destiny 2 behind-the-scenes featurette videos. Similar Power level numbers seen in demos, at tradeshows like E3, or in other development videos have been placeholders before, so this number may not be final. However, in the ViDoc that revealed Shadowkeep, a portion of the video featuring a playtest session at Bungie headquarters shows the number 900 Power level on screen. The Power level cap in Destiny 2‘s current Season of Opulence is 750, so a 150 level jump seems to be a sizeable but very realistic next step considering the fact that Shadowkeep is meant to be the size of Destiny 1‘s Rise of Iron expansion or a little bigger. It’s also possible that 900 is the soft cap of the expansion, which can only be surpassed by completing endgame … [Read more...] about Destiny 2: What Is Shadowkeep’s New Power Level Cap?
An early criticism of Destiny 2 when the game launched in September 2017 was about the new subclass trees with fans of the first game calling it an oversimplification of the original game’s leveling options. It was one of many complaints leveled at the game early on which led to an overall accusation that Bungie made the game more for the casual player rather than for hardcore fans. For the past two years, the feeling has not changed much about Destiny 2‘s subclass trees, which consist of four locked-in perks. While much of the game has become more complex over the past two years, nothing has been done regarding making the perk selection of the subclasses more robust. Unfortunately, any fans hoping that this fall’s Shadowkeep would finally change that will still be left waiting. According to Destiny franchise director Luke Smith, who spoke to Polygon, the criticism has been heard, but the developers decided to focus their efforts on the new Armor 2.0 system coming … [Read more...] about Why Destiny 2 Is Not Making Subclass Trees More Customizable
When Bungie first revealed Shadowkeep, the new expansion coming this fall to Destiny 2, a new armor system, dubbed Armor 2.0, was shown. This new system was touted as a way for players to take a piece of armor they like cosmetically and apply a selection of their most desired mods to the armor in order to build the exact perk set on that armor that they desire. The new system received a brief showcase in the new ViDoc showing off what’s coming this fall in Destiny 2 with Shadowkeep and Year 3, but more light has been shed on the Armor 2.0 system. Destiny franchise director Luke Smith and general manager Mark Noseworthy went further in-depth about Armor 2.0 in an interview with Polygon. First off, as was shown off in the original ViDoc, the way armor functions and the way it looks are being separated with new armor coming in Year 3. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a reason to keep chasing armor. That’s because, according to Bungie, armor will come … [Read more...] about Destiny 2 Explains More About Armor 2.0 Coming This Fall
Since the feature arrived earlier this month, Destiny 2 players have been grinding away at Emperor Calus’ Tribute Hall. The newly added location tasks players with completing longterm objectives or spending resources in exchange for placing tributes eventually unlocking the Bad Juju exotic pulse rifle, its catalyst, and more. Players are encouraged to complete four daily tasks over the course of twenty days to significantly lower the tribute resource costs which has resulted in numerous glitches being found to speed up the process. In the latest weekly blog post, Bungie acknowledged the glitches that Destiny 2 players have found and reiterated the developers stance that it would never punish those who discover cheeses, loot caves, or other shortcuts. However, the studio did reveal that the July 30 update will finally close the boon of opulence loop hole that players have been able to exploit. While that generally means players have a limited time to take advantage of the … [Read more...] about Destiny 2 Boon of Opulence Glitches Get a Creative Fix
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is only a few months away, which means that developer Bungie will soon be peeling back the layers regarding what experiences players can expect in the upcoming Year 3 expansion. In the meantime, however, new details seem to surface daily – sharing small details about the new content and rewards players will unlock. This week, one Destiny 2 fan looked through the game description details for Shadowkeep and discovered a pre-order bonus tied to the DLC. Apparently, if players pre-order Destiny 2: Shadowkeep on digital storefronts or purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition they will unlock a Hive-themed ornament for the Two-Tailed Fox exotic rocket launcher. Two-Tailed Fox is one of the exotics introduced with Destiny 2: Forsaken – a rocket launcher that actually fires two rockets simultaneously, one to debuff and one to do big damage. Its current design features a Jade Rabbit-esque pink sheen, so a Hive rebrand could give it a little grittier look. As of yet, … [Read more...] about Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Offering Pre-Order Bonus Ornament
