FORTNITE is one of the most popular video games on the planet, but that might not save it from having to shut down for good this month. Rumours have resurfaced that the game could be taken down due increased demands. Here is what we know... Is Fortnite Battle Royale shutting down? Rumours of Fortnite shutting down were first pointed out by Twinfinite when a screengrab of an alleged tweet from Fortnite's official account started circulating. The post stated: "Due to the lawsuit against PubG on copyright infringement. We are sorry to inform you that Fortnite Battle Royale Will be coming to an end May 24, 2018. "Save the world will still be in development and we will roll out ASAP. Thank you all for the support." Fans needn't worry, however, as the tweet appears to be nothing more than a hoax. In addition to the grammatical errors and formatting inconsistencies, the tweet is also nowhere to be found on the official Fortnite website, or on any other social media accounts. While there was a … [Read more...] about Is Fortnite shutting down? A rumour claims Battle Royale will end – what’s the truth?
ESPN’s feature story about the life and career of Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, the most popular Fortnite streamer in the world, is filled with interesting details about what it takes to achieve that level of success. Spoiler warning: It involves sticking to a schedule that doesn’t actually sound fun, or even tolerable for most people. Maybe the most illuminating detail from the piece is how Blevins practices the game. It’s very unlikely that you approach Fortnite, or any other video game, in the same way. I’m going to quote this section at length: How does he stay so good? Pro tip: Don’t just play, practice. Ninja competes in about 50 games a day, and he analyzes each and every one. He never gets tired of it, and every loss hits him hard. Hypercompetitive, he makes sure he walks away with at least one win each day. (He averages about 15 and once got 29 in a single day.) ”When I die, I get so upset,” he says. “You can play every … [Read more...] about How to practice Fortnite like Ninja
Fortnite’s newest patch is here, and this time around, nothing too major is changing, but there are a few additions that are worth looking at. There’s a new way to create a giant structure in the blink of an eye, thanks to a new throw-able item. Also coming to the game is a pre-built structure for players to experiment with in Playground Mode, as well as some console-specific changes. Epic is also rolling back the changes it made a couple of weeks ago that let storms in the late game deal damage to structures, leaving it to once again be a builders’ paradise. If you want to check out all of the changes coming to Fortnite with patch v5.41, you can check out the patch notes. The new Port-a-Fortress is an upgraded Port-a-Fort The Port-a-Fort has been out for a while now, and it’s about time the item got a little upgrade. Turns out Epic agrees, as the Port-a-Fortress has been added to the game in patch v5.41. As the name suggests, this new throw-able equipment … [Read more...] about 5 things to know from Fortnite patch v5.41
NINTENDO may have been the last console maker to the Fortnite party, it's making up for lost time. As well as confirming this week that playing the game will continue to be free even after the paid-for Nintendo Switch Online service launches, they just revealed a new Switch bundle including exclusive Fortnite goodies. It won't cost any more than a standard Switch when it goes on sales in the US either, despite coming with a Nintendo-exclusive 'Double Helix' Fortnite skin, pickaxe, glider and back bling and approximately £10-worth of in-game currency. The outfit is just a slightly tweaked version of the Archetype skin, released earlier this month, but done in the red and white of Nintendo's logo. It has not been confirmed if this bundle is coming to the UK or how much it will cost when it does, however. This follows on from the theme of Sony's exclusive skins all featuring blue quite prominently -- and lends credence to the suggestion that the green-tinted Eon will be … [Read more...] about Fortnite Switch bundle confirmed – complete with free Double Helix skin
Another Nintendo Switch bundle is hitting stores in October, and this one is aimed at Fortnite fans who have yet to grab the console. The Fortnite “Double Helix” bundle will include numerous extras for the free-to-play game, including what Nintendo and Epic Game are calling “unique” weapons and outfits. Launching Oct. 5, the package comes with the Double Helix set of items, including an outfit, back bling, glider and pickaxe. Based on the image on the box art, the Double Helix collection has a classy red-, black-and-white color scheme going — kind of a cyberpunk vibe. You tell me, though: Buyers will also receive 1,000 V-Bucks, which can be used to buy premium items or the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass gives players access to more content, like extra outfits, emotes and seasonal specials. Since Fortnite is a free-to-play game, it seems likely that buyers will just be encouraged to boot up the Switch eShop once they’ve set up their system and download … [Read more...] about Nintendo Switch Fortnite bundle to launch with exclusive items, in-game cash
