At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Wizards of the Coast gave fans their first official look at Throne of Eldraine, a new Magic: The Gathering set that will be available this fall. Inspired by fairy tales and Arthurian mythology, it appears as though Throne of Eldraine looks to rival some of Magic: The Gathering‘s most compelling worlds, such as those that were created for Innistrad and Lorwyn, which is certain to excite fans that enjoy the fantasy aspect of Wizard’s legendary TCG. Magic: The Gathering‘s Throne of Eldraine set was developed with a top-down philosophy, which means that the concept of the set’s world was defined first, and then individual cards and mechanics were designed to fit that concept. As such, fans should certainly expect fairy tales to permeate Throne of Eldraine to its very core, from its artwork to its keywords, and Wizards has already offered a taste of this through the images shown at Comic-Con. With respect to the cards that will be … [Read more...] about Magic: The Gathering Throne of Eldraine Set Announced
Ever since the release of Mortal Kombat 11 back in April, fans have been asking for more details on who the MK11 DLC characters will be and when they will be available. While it has now been confirmed that Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn will eventually join Mortal Kombat 11‘s Shang Tsung as DLC fighters, release dates for these three characters are still nowhere in sight, and fans are starting to grow tired of Mortal Kombat 11 director, and series co-creator, Ed Boon’s frequent teasing on Twitter. Indeed, Boon’s Twitter feed has been filled with cryptic hints about, and teaser images of, the forthcoming Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters for months, but there has been no indication of when these fighters will make their way to the game. Additionally, some of Boon’s tweets have been taken as the director poking fun at those that are losing their patience about the release of these characters, and this “trolling” is starting to prove … [Read more...] about Mortal Kombat 11 Fans Are Tired of Director’s ‘Trolling’
Overwatch has been teasing Hero 31, Sigma, for the past few days, with the latest teaser offering even more details on what to expect from the new character. Like past Sigma teasers, this latest one is short, but there are some details that potentially shed some light on his backstory. In the new Overwatch Sigma teaser, we see what is presumably Sigma in an orange shirt or jacket. There is a label on the shirt that designates Sigma as “Subject Sigma,” suggesting that he is either a prisoner or a science experiment of some sort. Wherever Sigma is, it’s clear that he’s there against his will, as an alarm starts going off, teasing a breakout. The new Overwatch Sigma teaser is accompanied by a melody that’s similar to the piano music heard in the first Sigma teaser. Classical music has now been established as a common theme for Sigma, which could mean that he is just a fan of that kind of music, or that music may even influence his abilities in the … [Read more...] about Overwatch Sigma Teaser Reveals More About the Character
Almost three months have passed ever since NetherRealms released Mortal Kombat 11, and it appears that players are still discovering new ways to finish off enemies in the fighting game. Most of the brutality finishers have already been discovered and are unlocked in Krypt mode. However, a YouTuber, whose channel goes by the name Dynasty, just found a new brutality ending for Cassie Cage, and as expected, it is gorier than usual. Players who have battled against Johnny Cage’s daughter in Mortal Kombat 11 know that her classic finishing move has her mounting her opponent and showering them with a surge of punches to the head. But the latest discovery ramps the violence up to a new level because instead of beating her opponent to death, Cassie is seen pulling out a gun and shooting her enemy’s head off. To perform the move on the PS4 version of the game, one must press L2/R2, down, and X. Players on other platforms can also do the new brutality ending by simply pressing the … [Read more...] about Mortal Kombat 11 Fans Discover Secret Cassie Cage Brutality
While developer Bungie has yet to officially reveal the new Power level cap that players will grind toward in the new Shadowkeep expansion coming this fall, keen-eyed fans have spotted some Power level numbers in some of the latest Destiny 2 behind-the-scenes featurette videos. Similar Power level numbers seen in demos, at tradeshows like E3, or in other development videos have been placeholders before, so this number may not be final. However, in the ViDoc that revealed Shadowkeep, a portion of the video featuring a playtest session at Bungie headquarters shows the number 900 Power level on screen. The Power level cap in Destiny 2‘s current Season of Opulence is 750, so a 150 level jump seems to be a sizeable but very realistic next step considering the fact that Shadowkeep is meant to be the size of Destiny 1‘s Rise of Iron expansion or a little bigger. It’s also possible that 900 is the soft cap of the expansion, which can only be surpassed by completing endgame … [Read more...] about Destiny 2: What Is Shadowkeep’s New Power Level Cap?
