Mortal Kombat 11 is full of easter eggs and nods to the franchise’s past, like Reptile hiding in the Krypt and intro dialogue between characters that reference obscure events. Reddit user sysusr recently discovered yet another easter egg in Mortal Kombat 11 that had been hiding on Noob Saibot’s Klassic Skin, serving as a reference to Mortal Kombat 2. Reddit user sysusr noted that Noob Saibot’s Klassic Skin has input commands on it, and Reddit user pope-killdragon commented on the post to explain the purpose of them. “This was the code in MK2 to go directly to the Noob Saibot fight from the Character Select screen. The red dot is Select,” pope-killdragon explained on the Reddit post. Of course, this is far from the only easter egg that has been discovered in Mortal Kombat 11 since the fighting game launched this past April. The game also includes a Toy Story easter egg, as well as references to Black Panther, Frozen, and a variety … [Read more...] about Mortal Kombat 11: New Noob Saibot Easter Egg Discovered

E3 2019 saw the announcement of two new DLC characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate including the Dragon Quest Hero and Xbox’s Banjo Kazooie. But sometimes Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans have to take things into their own hands in order to play their favorite characters. Infamous Super Smash Bros. Ultimate modder Demonslayerx8 continues to do just that, with his latest mod project being none other than Seto Kaiba from the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. As with all of their mods, Demonslayer8’s Kaiba mod is a model-only edit. That means that the mod changes an existing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character to look like the new character, but their animations and abilities are otherwise entirely the same. In Kaiba’s case, Demonslayer8 modded the Persona 5 Joker DLC character to become Kaiba. It’s fairly easy to recognize Joker’s Persona being summoned, though Kaiba fans can just imagine it to be a special card ability. For those unfamiliar, Seto Kaiba is one of … [Read more...] about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mod Adds Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh!
Earlier this year, Nintendo surprised fans by announcing the indie game Cadence of Hyrule, a mashup between The Legend of Zelda and Crypt of the NecroDancer. Development on the new game was handled by Brace Yourself Games, which is evidenced by the familiar gameplay that puts an emphasis on matching combat to the beat of the soundtrack. The game also features many classic Zelda locations, music, and items, some of which are required to access the first major dungeon inside Gerudo Desert. Access to this area is restricted until players can find three hidden gears, which an NPC needs in order to lower a nearby bridge. Thankfully, the gears themselves aren’t difficult to find, though they’re easily missed if players are not actively looking for them. Here are the three locations of the missing gears in Cadence of Hyrule. Gear Locations Gear locations are fairly easy to spot once the Gerudo Desert is found due to the game using a randomly generated overworld. Once there, all … [Read more...] about Cadence of Hyrule: How to Get Gears
At last week’s E3 2019, Nintendo revealed a slew of upcoming games coming to the Switch in a Direct presentation. Among the many exciting titles headed to the hybrid platform is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, which will serve as a direct sequel to the 2017 game. In a post-E3 interview by Game Informer, Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma revealed that Breath of the Wild 2 won’t be made from scratch, but will instead reuse the Hyrule map from the original Breath of the Wild. Aonuma explained that “one of the reasons we wanted to create a continuation was because I wanted to revisit that Hyrule again and use that world again, while incorporating new gameplay and new story.” Aonuma also confirmed that Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the director of the original game, will be returning as the director of the upcoming sequel. When asked whether Breath of the Wild 2 will be given the same treatment as Majora’s Mask, which was created from scratch and developed in … [Read more...] about Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel Reuses Hyrule Map
