It’s an exciting time to be a fan of Massive Entertainment’s looter shooter, The Division 2. The first of three episodic content drops is releasing next Tuesday for those with the Year 1 pass and on July 30th for those without it. With this update comes tons of new content and changes for players both old and new. Game Rant sat down with The Division 2‘s live content manager, Yannick Banchereau, to learn a little bit about Episode 1 and how it connects to the main game. Story content within Episode 1, which Ubisoft announced a few months ago, will be directly connected with The Division 2’s main campaign, and players will have to have reached World Tier 5 to actually partake in the episode’s two new story missions. “Especially, Camp White Oak, one of the two new missions we’re introducing with Episode 1, is actually a direct continuation of what happened after Tidal Basin,” stated Banchereau during the interview. Banchereau also … [Read more...] about The Division 2: How Episodes Connect to the Campaign
Having improved upon its predecessor in multiple ways, including in terms of post-release content updates, The Division 2 has been a resounding success for Ubisoft. Moreover, its success may continue to grow if some Amazon Prime Day deals for The Division 2 succeed in persuading hesitant gamers to struggle for survival in the streets of Washington, D.C. In fact, multiple editions of The Division 2 have had their prices slashed for Amazon Prime Day. This includes the digital code for the Gold Edition of The Division 2 on Xbox One, which is down from $99.99 to $59.99. There is also an available Gold Steelbook Edition that has been discounted from $109.99 to $80.22 on PlayStation 4 and to $79.97 on Xbox One for Prime members. Additionally, the standard edition of the game has also seen a sizable price cut. Previously priced at $59.99, the digital code for the Xbox One standard is now $40.19, while the physical version of the standard edition is now $19.99 on both Xbox One and PlayStation … [Read more...] about The Division 2 Price Slashed for Amazon Prime Day
The Division series director Julian Gerighty has fans speculating after asking them for their thoughts on a single-player game in the series. One idea for a single-player Division game was described as a mix of The Division lore with the atmosphere and narrative style of The Last of Us, the hugely popular PlayStation exclusive game from Naughty Dog. On Twitter, Tim Spencer, level director at LEGO Star Wars developer TT Games, said that he would “love” to see a “single-player narrative-driven spin-off” of The Division. Spencer’s idea for the game’s story would star a Division agent as they try to “get home to their family after being sent to NYC, during the SHD blackout from the fall of DC.” The game could “explore what a Division agent sacrifices” and the character could also be “haunted by nightmares of what could have happened to their family, because they answered the call of the SHD, so weren’t there to protect … [Read more...] about The Division 2 Director Polls Fans on Single-Player Spin Off
A tweet from one of TT Games’ developers suggested the idea of a spin-off game. One set in The Division but with a single-player story. If there’s anything we’ve learned from the recent sales and awards, it’s that single-player games still sell. Not only do they sell, they sell amazingly. That’s why this move is very profitable for Ubisoft should they execute it well. Now normally, a suggestion doesn’t become news. But when the creative director of the Division itself notices the idea, it becomes a possibility. Here’s that possibility: Would people be behind the idea of The Division single-player game though? That part was also given some reasoning and clarification from TT Games. Mainly it was made in comparison to the Last of Us. The game shares a similar theme with the Division in terms of a post apocalyptic setting. It’s not exactly the same, since they are two different representations of a similar situation. What the two have in … [Read more...] about Could We Be Seeing A Single-Player The Division Spin-Off?
