By Matt Martin, Thursday, 22 February 2018 09:48 GMT Season 3 of Fortnite is now live and it’s brought with it a whole host of changes. Battle Royale mode defaults to 60fps but players can switch to 30fps if you don’t want to take the visual hit. A new weapon, the Hand Cannon, has been added to Battle Royale, which takes Heavy Ammo and comes in Epic and Legendary varieties. Double-pumping on shotguns has been nerfed so that players will now need to reload the shotgun after firing and switching weapons quickly. Uncommon and rare pistol drop rates have been increased, while Epic and Legendary Suppressed pistol drops have been decreased. There’s been big changes to the building system too, and of course the much-hyped new outfits, pickaxes, back bling, dances, emotes and skydiving trails are also part of the package. Players of Save The World now have access to the new Hover Board, as well as the Bald Eagle Hand Cannon. Fortnite PS4 And Xbox One Adding 60 FPS Mode, Dev Talks Server Issues
Fortnite's free-to-play Battle Royale mode has surged in popularity over the past few weeks, recently hitting a new record of 3.4 million concurrent users. Unfortunately, the influx of players has also resulted in a number of server issues across PS4, Xbox One, and PC, which developer Epic has addressed in a new post on its website."We were not able to stay ahead of our continued growth and multiple of our backend services have been struggling under load the last several weeks. And we also shipped v2.3.0 with significant bugs. We don't consider either acceptable," Epic wrote. As a result, the developer says it has "changed [its] release plans [and] processes to help improve quality of client builds."Among the areas Epic looks to improve are load times. The developer says it is "testing and bug fixing improvements that will deliver better level streaming with less hitches." Similarly, Epic says it is "close" to the point it can test a major optimization of its networking code, which … [Read more...] about Fortnite PS4 And Xbox One Adding 60 FPS Mode, Dev Talks Server Issues

Dark Souls Remastered Will Have 4K Resolution, HDR, 60 FPS
A Dark Souls Remastered game has been announced at this morning’s Nintendo Direct Mini, and will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, the Xbox One, the Playstation 4, and the PC. The game will be updated to modern standards as well, and will also include the “Artorias of the Abyss” DLC. Dark Souls is the first of the enormously popular Dark Souls trilogy, which popularized the genre of extremely difficult RPG games alongside its sister game Bloodborne. The original Dark Souls was the only one of the series to come out exclusively on previous generation consoles, while Dark Souls 2 came out on both previous-gen and current-gen consoles and Dark Souls 3 came out exclusively on current-gen consoles. In addition to Artorias of the Abyss, the game will also include 4K resolution, high dynamic ranging, and sixty frames per second, bringing it up to modern standards in a big way. While the game’s original offering in the previous console generation was already good to … [Read more...] about Dark Souls Remastered Will Have 4K Resolution, HDR, 60 FPS
Dark Souls: Remastered Will Include 4K, HDR, 60 FPS on Select Consoles
The fact that Dark Souls is considered a very popular franchise should come to no surprise to anyone. We learned today during the latest Nintendo Direct that Dark Souls: Remastered is coming to the Nintendo Switch, as well as the PS4, PC, and Xbox One. What we weren’t given specification on was what made it a “remaster.” The PlayStation blog published a post from Bandai Namco where Brand Marketing Associate Kasumi Yogi went into greater length about what features are being enhanced for the PS4 Pro version of the game. The first thing he mentions is the enhancement to 4K resolution. The original Dark Souls was released on last generation consoles before 4K was a viable option. Seeing the original vision in a higher fidelity is sure to bring die-hard fans back to the land of Lordran. He also lists HDR lighting and 60 FPS as features for the PlayStation 4 Pro, with no explicit mention on whether either enhancement will come to standard PS4s. Graphical … [Read more...] about Dark Souls: Remastered Will Include 4K, HDR, 60 FPS on Select Consoles
