We're republishing our 2016 ranking of Mass Effect's best and worst as we look forward to Mass Effect: Legendary Edition . A week ago I dropped my Ultimate Ranking of Mass Effect Companions into the PC Gamer Slack channel and destroyed productivity for an hour. This tends to happen whenever we talk about Mass Effect: Any conversation around the best games in the series, best missions, and most definitely the best characters. It says something about Mass Effect, that we still feel so strongly about its stories nearly a decade after entering that universe for the first time. No Man's Sky is adding cross-platform multiplayer starting June 11, the same day the title goes live on Xbox and PC Game Pass. "Do you have a friend on another gaming system with whom you’ve always wanted to explore the great unknown? A legendary base you’ve seen videos of but never been able to visit? A mission that you think would be great to play with friends on other platforms?" blog post announcing the move. As GamesRadar previously reported , No Man's Sky (formerly a PlayStation console exclusive) is the June addition to Xbox Game Pass, which means it will be available for Windows 10 operating systems as well. With the added bonus of crossplay, players from all platforms can do some planet mining in tandem and alien riding. It's great to see how No Man's Sky has evolved as an IP since it launched in 2016. Last week's Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 update fuelled Virgin Media's biggest download day on record. Virgin Media said the battle royale's update, which launched on 25th February, contributed to a 24-hour period in which the average user downloaded more than 20GB of data. That's nearly 3.5GB more than the already record-breaking daily average of 2020. The Season 2 download weighed in at around 17GB. This was the update that came alongside a warning from Activision that those who own a standard PlayStation 4 with a default hard-drive of 500GB may need to make room if they have the full versions of Modern Warfare, Warzone and Black Ops Cold War with all modes and packs installed . Exacerbating the problem on PlayStation consoles at least, the Warzone Season 2 update required over 100GB of clear space before the 17GB download would start. The first trailer for Amazon's Tom Clancy adaptation Without Remorse has been released. The movie stars Michael B. Jordan as vengeful CIA operative John Clark, and it hits Amazon Video on April 30. The trailer sets up the basic plot, which sees Clark and his family attacked by highly trained assassins. Clark survives but his wife dies, so the angry operative goes rogue in an attempt to find whoever launched the assault. This being a Clancy story, there also lots of shadowy conspiracy thrills alongside the high-octane violence, a mix that diretor Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Gomorrah) has proven to be very skilled at in the past. A new patch is available now for the hit Norse multiplayer game Valheim . Among a handful of smaller changes, it makes a big change for dedicated servers and also tweaks the game balance so wolves are less horny. Starting with the dedicated servers, this new update makes it so dedicated servers now always use direct connections instead of using the Steam Datagram Relay (SDR) system. "This should result in much lower latency for most players," developer Iron Gate said. "I really hope this patch solves a lot of connection issues introduced in last weeks patches (due to switching socket backend)," the studio said. Elsewhere, the March 2 update for Valheim contains a change that makes wolves less likely to mate. The patch notes state that the update "lowered wolf procreation slightly." The developers apparently thought there was something wrong with wolves making cubs more than they should, so wolves are slightly less horny now, to borrow a phrase from PCGamer .
