It doesn't matter if it wasn't videogame-related, though the odds of it being a walkthrough or cheat code are probably pretty high. Were you searching for song lyrics, music videos, or RuneScape? Free games, god mode, or Pokémon? Or was it something far too embarrassing to own up to? Do you remember the first thing you searched the web for? Here are our answers, plus a few from our forum . James Davenport: What else but https://www.goosebumps.com ? The way I am an annoying prick about Dark Souls today, I was an annoying prick about Goosebumps as a 10-year-old. I was obsessed with those books, so the day our local library got dial-up internet, I ran down the street and into the dingy backroom computer lab, and logged the hell on. I remember an oozing, poorly … [Read more...] about Do you remember the first thing you searched the web for?
Good news, Google Stadia users: If you're trying to search for your favorite games on the platform's web store, you can do that now. That's right, the billion-dollar tech company that became a tech titan through its mastery of search results somehow didn't include a search bar on its online games store. Needless to say, this inspired some negative reactions from notable gaming personalities. "Google is literally a search bar company," Noclip founder (and former GameSpot host) Danny O'Dwyer correctly pointed out . "It's great that after almost 1.5 years hiring and laying off entire games studios and generally squandering their early launch advantage, the massive corporation entirely built around Search has integrated a Search [bar] into its service," Vlambeer co-founder Rami Ismail said. Good news - a search bar is now rolling out to the #Stadia store. Remember Shadow , the streaming service that let you 'rent' a high-end PC over the web? Today, GamesIndustry.biz reported that developer Blade filed for bankruptcy in the US and was placed in receivership in France as it struggled to keep up with demand. Unlike Stadia's limited storefront of games ported to the service, Shadow effectively gives users a PC-away-from-home, one that you can install anything you want. At its initial $34.95/month it was pricey, but now it's just $11.99/month because the hardware is still limited to a GTX 1080-level GPU, and that makes it a steal. Having your own complete gaming PC living in the cloud, effectively accessible from anywhere, makes the service unlike any other streaming option. You have complete autonomy to install whichever apps, games, or services you want on the machine, the only limitations being the paltry storage space and a reliance on a decent network connection. The Blade Shadow service has long been a travel companion … [Read more...] about One of the best PC streaming services is filing for bankruptcy
A Spider-Man: Far From Home actor is returning for the sequel. J.B. Smoove confirmed to The Daily Zeitgeist that he'd be back for Spider-Man 3 , officially titled Spider-Man: No Way Home. While talking about his roles in both the Marvel and DC universes, Smoove commented: "I just did the new Spider-Man." In Far From Home, Smoove plays one of Peter Parker's teachers named Mr. Dell, who accompanies the class on their European trip. The actor also voices Frank the Plant in DC's Harley Quinn animated series, and played Leon in Curb Your Enthusiasm. The plot of Spider-Man 3 is still mostly shrouded in mystery, but Smoove returning indicates we can expect more high school scenes. In fact, back in November, news broke that Marvel had permission to film in two locations used for Peter's school in Spider-Man: Homecoming and its sequel. Considering Far From Home ended with Spidey framed for Mysterio's murder, it's up in the air whether Peter will actually be returning to … [Read more...] about Spider-Man: Far From Home actor confirms return for Spider-Man 3
The biggest patch to date for Outriders is now available, fixing a very long list of bugs that players have reported since launch. This patch does not, however, address the bug that caused players, in some cases, to lose their inventories . The fix for this inventory wipe issue was planned to release already, but it still needs more work from developer People Can Fly. Some "edge cases" recently came up and this required the studio to retest the process "several times over." As work continues on this restoration patch, People Can Fly separately worked on a general patch that is available now. The April 30 patch for Outriders fixes a number of crash scenarios and addresses numerous other issues and bugs, including a problem that could case the game to get stuck on the "Sign In" screen. The update also makes changes to weapon balance with AI snipers now giving players more time to dodge their shots. Additionally, the amount of knockback from creatures in the Stargrave expedition has … [Read more...] about Outriders Gets Biggest Patch To Date With Bug Fixes, Balance Changes, And More
