By Cameron Bonomolo - December 28, 2017 11:52 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Star Trek icon Nichelle Nichols is optimistic about where the long-running franchise is boldly going. "I think Star Trek is always going to be a window into what lies ahead of us," the 85-year-old actress told the Los Angeles Times. "I'm happy to see another generation of actors and actresses leading the charge. And now there are so many fans being a part of it. If it weren't for the fans, there'd be nothing to do." Nichols' role as Nyota Uhura in 1966's Star Trek: The Original Series was a groundbreaking one, with Uhura being a woman of color in a command position. Nichols helped make television history again when the Gene Roddenberry-created series gave TV its first-ever interracial kiss, as the lips of Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Uhura met during a 1968 episode of Star Trek. The newest iteration of the show, Star Trek: Discovery, launched in September on CBS before debuting all … [Read more...] about Nichelle Nichols Praises Those “Leading the Charge” in ‘Star Trek’s Future

Rainbow Six Siege Tests Removal of All Chat, Will Add Option to Disable It Instead
By Tanner Dedmon - December 7, 2019 10:44 am EST Share 0 Comments 0 Ubisoft briefly entertained the idea of disabling the All Chat feature in Rainbow Six Siege in efforts to reduce in-game toxicity, but it’s now reversed that decision following feedback from players. The reasoning behind the removal of the feature was that Ubisoft saw many instances of abusive communications came from All Chat, though players were vocal about wanting the feature to stick around and suggested alternative options. The plans to remove All Chat were first detailed through the patch notes for the test server which were shared on the Rainbow Six Siege subreddit. Ubisoft gave an explanation for the line that said “Removal of All Chat from all game modes” and said the removal was part of its … [Read more...] about Rainbow Six Siege Tests Removal of All Chat, Will Add Option to Disable It Instead

‘Spawn’s Todd McFarlane Shares Funny Photo From Visit With Stan Lee
By Charlie Ridgely - August 14, 2018 09:01 am EDT Share 0 Comments 0 While gearing up to shoot his live-action Spawn movie, creator Todd McFarlane took some time to visit with one of his long-time buddies, Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee, who didn't seem all that amused by his stopping by. McFarlane posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram on Monday, one in which he's donning a wide smile and giving the camera a thumbs up. Lee, however, was the complete opposite. Behind McFarlane, Lee sat in a chair with a cold look on his face, holding up a sign that says "Why is he here?" Of course, the words in McFarlane's post didn't exactly reflect Lee's mood. "PROOF POSITIVE that my recent visit with [Stan Lee] was the complete highlight of his day," McFarlane joked. "More photos later this week." ...
