By Nick Valdez - December 14, 2019 07:02 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 After exploding onto the anime scene with its first two seasons a couple of years ago, Konosuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! came roaring back earlier this year with a brand new feature length film, Legend of Crimson. The film was a huge hit for fans (and surprisingly, the screenwriter behind Pulp Fiction) after its theatrical runs in both Japan and North America. But now that its Summer release in Japan has long since passed, the film will soon be heading to home video. The official Twitter account has revealed the first details for its upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release. Officially releasing March 25, 2020 in Japan, the film will also get a limited edition Blu-ray with special art from original light novel illustrator Kurone Mishima. This will run interested fans 10,780 yen and include extra goodies and pack-ins for interested fans. … [Read more...] about Konosuba Movie Reveals First Blu-ray, DVD Details

Here are the two weird ideas Steven Spielberg put in Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Steven Spielberg and Star Wars? It sounds too good to be true… but the director’s commentary on the Collector’s Edition of Star Wars: The Force Awakens reveals that the ET director had a hand in two of the movie’s scenes.Episode 7 director J.J. Abrams reveals (via Screencrush) that the master of modern film gave a few suggestions to Abrams – and when Spielberg talks, you’d better listen. The first alteration comes during the crash-landing of the TIE fighter which Poe (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega) commandeered.Having plummeted onto Jakku the wreckage sinks into the sand, before a brief pause and one hell of an explosion. As Abrams explains, the big bang was Spielberg’s doing, “[the] explosion was Steven Spielberg’s idea. He loved the idea that the thing get sucked into the sand and then... that!”Even more impressive is the fact the entire blast was shot using practical effects and explosives. If Spielberg wants to blow a … [Read more...] about Here are the two weird ideas Steven Spielberg put in Star Wars: The Force Awakens
See how they made BB-8 talk in Star Wars: The Force Awakens
It may just sound like beeps and boops to us, but the droid-speak heard in Star Wars actually has roots in human conversation. Or at least BB-8's does. A newly-released featurette available in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Collector's Edition set shows how the rolly-polly scene-stealer's unique sound was made. The "Sounds of the Resistance" video shows Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) and Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live) serving as "voice consultants" for the scene-stealing ball. This means that the former recorded lines of understandable dialogue - telling Rey "thank you" and "I have to stay here, I can't just leave" - and creating a baseline to work from.Hader then provided a variety of sounds, following Schwartz's emotional cues. Lastly, JJ Abrams and the sound design team followed Hader's performance cues with a synthesizer and other digital tools, thus creating BB-8's "voice." You can see part of the process in action below:BB-8 speaks in "Sounds of the Resistance," from Star … [Read more...] about See how they made BB-8 talk in Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Deleted Star Wars: The Force Awakens scene finally shows Chewbacca ripping an arm off
Until now we'd only heard about the deleted Star Wars: the Force Awakens scene where Chewbacca rips someone's arm out. However the extra, which was first teased as part of the The Force Awakens’ 3D Collector’s Edition DVD and Blu-ray, has finally arrived online. As you can see, the scene shows Rey's former boss/owner from Jakku, Unkar Plutt, trying to throw his weight around in Maz Kanata’s bar and getting to see why you never want to make a wookiee angry. Cutting it was a good call. While there's no shortage of violence and threat in the Star Wars universe, there's something a little off about seeing Chewie tear an arm out at the socket. Directed by JJ Abrams and starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Collector's Edition is available now.Image credit: Disney … [Read more...] about Deleted Star Wars: The Force Awakens scene finally shows Chewbacca ripping an arm off

Among 18-49 year olds, the coveted advertising demo, SmackDown finished with a 0.65 rating, down from last week's 0.70 but still good enough for first place on network television Friday night.
