By Adam Barnhardt - December 14, 2019 05:10 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Natasha Romanoff hasn't been the only Black Widow in the Marvel Comics world — there's also been Yelena Belova, amongst others. Coincidentally enough, both Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) and Belova (Florence Pugh) will be appearing in Marvel Studios' Black Widow standalone next summer, though you shouldn't expect a formal passing of the torch. On the press tour for Little Women, Pugh told UPROXX the consensus on set was far from making a movie about handing a superhero mantle from one character to another. "No, I actually will say when we were making it, it wasn’t anything like that at all," Pugh says. "And I am saying it very honestly, it certainly didn’t feel like a passing of the torch kind of film when we were making it. And I think the direction and the feeling and the vibe behind it was genuinely just trying to make this complicated and painful story. And do it … [Read more...] about Black Widow Star Florence Pugh Says Marvel Isn’t Passing the Torch to Yelena Belova

By Adam Barnhardt - December 14, 2019 04:34 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 At one point or another, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will finally start production and according to one of those involved in the movie, it's going to be the best Guardians film yet. On the press tour for Jumanji: The Next Level, Guardians of the Galaxy star Karen Gillan told THR she's read the script and it's the best of the trilogy. "I don’t know exactly," Gillan says of a potential production start date for the movie. "I think it’ll be in the next couple of years, but I’ve read Vol. 3 and I think it’s the best of the trilogy. I know that we’re all really excited to have James Gunn back as our fearless leader. So we’re all just really looking forward to getting back together." Virtually nothing has been revealed in regards to a plot for the Guardians threequel, other than Gunn will return to close out the franchise's original trilogy. Gunn himself has … [Read more...] about Karen Gillan Says Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Is Best of Trilogy
By Cameron Bonomolo - December 14, 2019 05:02 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Writer-director James Gunn’s script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 wasn’t altered by the events of Avengers: Endgame because Gunn penned his threequel after being made aware of the events of that film, Gunn says. Following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, where Guardians of the Galaxy member Gamora (Zoe Saldana) was murdered by adopted father Thanos (Josh Brolin) to unlock the Soul Stone, Endgame sees lovers Gamora and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) briefly reunited when a time-traveling Gamora from 2014 — the same year the Guardians formed — enters present day 2023 alongside Thanos and her adopted sister Nebula (Karen Gillan). After Nebula is killed by her own future-self, 2014 Gamora and 2023 Nebula took off together to parts unknown. “The script will change because my scripts always keep changing up until the moment I shoot them,” Gunn wrote on his … [Read more...] about James Gunn Says Avengers: Endgame Didn’t Affect His Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Plans
By Brandon Davis - October 24, 2019 08:28 pm EDT Share 7 Comments 7 Among the many Marvel Cinematic Universe characters to be killed off in Avengers: Infinity War was Gamora. Unlike Black Panther, Falcon, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and others who were killed by Thanos snapping his fingers, Gamora was a permanent death. The character's leap on Vormir (or -- toss -- to be more accuracte) lead to her demise as Thanos obtained the Soul Stone. According to Hawkeye in Avengers: Endgame, such a death is irreversible. It's the same reason why Black Widow could not be saved with the Infinity Stones. However, using time travel, Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely found a way to bring Zoe Saldana's Gamora back as a means to have her available for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While writing the massive crossover films did come with near complete freedom from restraint for future projects, it did call for at least one act of service … [Read more...] about Avengers: Endgame Brought Gamora Back for James Gunn’s Guardians Vol. 3
By Nicole Drum - December 14, 2019 05:30 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Marvel's What If...? may be one of the most anticipated offerings coming to Disney+. The animated series, based on the comics of the same name, will explore many significant moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe but from the angle of what would have happened had just one thing gone a little differently. It's a premise that is set to offer Peggy Carter as Captain Carter instead of Steve Rogers as Captain America among other interesting twists, but while it's an exciting premise it's one that fans have to wait for as the series isn't set to debut until summer 2021. But while we don't yet have a release date, fans can at least take some comfort in knowing that work is underway and that when it comes to Guardians of the Galaxy star Karen Gillan, she's already completed her voice work on the series. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gillan revealed that she has finished up her voice … [Read more...] about Guardians of the Galaxy Star Karen Gillan Has Completed Her Role on Marvel’s What If…?
