By Tyler Fischer - December 14, 2019 10:12 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 According to Sony and Sucker Punch Productions, Ghost of Tsushima isn't just "huge," but the biggest game the latter has ever made. For those that missed it: the above pair brought Ghost of Tsushima to The Game Awards this year, where a four minute plus trailer of the game was shared. As always, the game looks visually striking and quite promising. Further, the new trailer provided a glimpse at the scale and scope of the game, which looks ambitious to say the least. And that's because it is. Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sucker Punch Productions communications manager Andrew Goldfarb teased that Ghost of Tsushima "is a big game" for the studio, like, really big. That said, the team is taking its time in order to ensure it nails the opportunity to deliver something special. "Ghost of Tsushima is huge – the biggest game Sucker Punch has ever made by a wide margin," said Goldfarb. "Our … [Read more...] about PlayStation Teases the “Huge” Size of Ghost of Tsushima

Star Wars Editor: The Last Jedi Presented “A Lot of Challenges” for The Rise of Skywalker
By Cameron Bonomolo - December 14, 2019 10:48 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker editor Maryann Brandon admits the Rian Johnson-directed The Last Jedi presented “a lot of challenges in terms of where Episode IX had to go to finish the saga.” Skywalker had to send off Resistance leader Leia without star Carrie Fisher — who died one year before Last Jedi released in December 2017 — and the conclusion to the nine-episode Skywalker Saga had to wrap up without a flesh-and-blood Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), who perished on the sacred island of Ahch-To after confronting twisted nephew Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) through an exhaustive Force link. Brandon “really enjoyed” Last Jedi, but the middle chapter of the sequel trilogy posed multiple problems: “In other words, unfortunately Carrie died, but she didn’t obviously die in Episode VIII. She’s a character that had to be … [Read more...] about Star Wars Editor: The Last Jedi Presented “A Lot of Challenges” for The Rise of Skywalker
Star Wars: More Details Emerge About Colin Trevorrow’s ‘Episode IX’ Departure
By Patrick Cavanaugh - May 11, 2018 07:13 am EDT Share 1 Comments 1 Over the last year, Lucasfilm has earned a reputation for itself as having a director problem, with the original directors of Solo: A Star Wars Story leaving the project last summer while Colin Trevorrow left Episode IX in September. Neither the studio nor Trevorrow have detailed what led to the split, though a new report from the Wall Street Journal possibly offers new clues on the situation. According to the outlet, Trevorrow was tapped following the success he achieved with Jurassic World and wrote a script with Jack Thorpe. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was reportedly unhappy with the first draft, with Trevorrow also feeling frustrated with the story he turned in. The filmmaker reportedly asked for another chance at writing the script, though Kennedy didn't allow him this chance, leading to the departure. We doubt that the draft could have been so underwhelming that the filmmaker's … [Read more...] about Star Wars: More Details Emerge About Colin Trevorrow’s ‘Episode IX’ Departure

Star Wars: Snoke Almost Looked Totally Different in ‘The Last Jedi’
By Patrick Cavanaugh - February 26, 2018 06:26 pm EST Share 0 Comments 0 Supreme Leader Snoke debuted in The Force Awakens as a larger than life hologram, immediately igniting extravagant fan theories about the villain's origins. The character got a much more integral role in The Last Jedi, but writer/director Rian Johnson toyed with bringing him to life using practical makeup effects before settling on utilizing Andy Serkis' motion-capture abilities to convey the character. "Rian got a sculpt done by the creature team, which completely transformed the look of Snoke away from the almost gelatinous zombie look that was in The Force Awakens, and stamped him into the real world," visual effects supervisor Ben Morris shared with Deadline. "We had that maquette on set, and we also made sure that we had an older actor who we could shoot on every time we had a shot." Serkis provided the character's voice in The Force Awakens, but as he did nothing more than sit on a … [Read more...] about Star Wars: Snoke Almost Looked Totally Different in ‘The Last Jedi’
