Shovel Knight has had so many cameos since his debut in 2014. According to his Wikia page, he has appeared in 30 different games in various forms like a chatty NPC in Yooka Laylee, a guest character in Indivisible, and was even honoured with the role of an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. One of Shovel Knight's most recent appearances is in the gothic metroidvania, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night that released earlier this year. If you apply a piece of armour to your character, they transform into the blue knight who looks pretty buff in 3D. But, Shovel Knight isn't done with Bloodtsained quite yet, the free fan-made game Shovel or Whip casts him back into the metroidvania's dark universe. But this time it is to the series' great NES ancestor, Castlevania. He's not alone though, Miriam, Bloodstained's main protagonist, is also there but she is less than happy to see him. Shovel or Whip is a fan-made mini-game that consists of a single boss fight, you play … [Read more...] about Shovel Knight and Bloodstained get transported to classic Castlevania in this fan-made game
Knights of the old republic 2 walkthrough
Five years after the release of the original Shovel Knight, developer Yacht Club Games has dropped word that a new game is on the way. Shovel Knight Dig is a collaborative effort between Yacht Club and Nitrome that will tell an all-new story about Shovel Knight and his dastardly nemesis, Drill Knight. As the title suggests, Shovel Knight Dig will take players underground, where they'll dig up vast riches that will enable the purchase of new, more powerful items and upgrades. Visually, it's a big step forward from the first Shovel Knight, with 16-bit-style "high color pixel graphics" and hand-crafted levels that are "stitched together using proprietary generation techniques" to provide long-term replayability. Players will encounter new knights, enemies, and other characters on their travels, but the tale will be told with the same lighthearted humor as the original game.Dare to compare:The title and the trailer are both reminiscent of the robotic spelunker Steamworld Dig, although … [Read more...] about Shovel Knight Dig will take the pixellated platformer underground
Phew. We’re apparently not getting a re-tread of the Batman’s origins. Robert Pattinson will soon be putting on the cowl but, according to a recent report, he will already be well-attuned to being Gotham’s protector – even if he’s prone to making a mistake or two. Confused? Let’s get right down to brass tacks and take a look at what we could potentially expect from PatMan. According to THR, the new Batman/Bruce Wayne will be around 30 years old (wouldn’t you just know it, Pattinson is 31), and so will have probably been doing the whole Batman gig for a couple of years now. But he won’t be a “seasoned crimefighter.” He’ll be a Batman who’s “still trying to find his footing on his way to becoming the genius detective.”Honestly? That’s a more interesting story to tell at this moment in time. We’ve seen Batman’s origins semi-recently in Batman Begins and we’ve had an older, more … [Read more...] about The Batman won’t be an origin story but will involve the Caped Crusader “trying to find his footing” – wait, what?
Did you buy Prey on Steam? Not the 2017 version from Arkane and Bethedsa: I'm talking about the 2006 version from Human Head Studios and 2K Games. If you didn't and want to now, you can't—the original Prey was quietly removed from Steam a few years ago. If you own it, you should still be able to play it, and if you can find a physical copy you may even be able to register the CD code with Steam. But you can't buy it on Steam anymore.Prey isn't alone: games vanish from Steam all the time. Sometimes they reappear later, but other times they're just plain gone—and this can happen for all sorts of different reasons.Publishers were "abusing" Steamworks toolsNot long ago roughly 1,000 games abruptly vanished from Steam. Many of them appeared to be what I'd describe as 'extremely indie'—games few had ever heard of or played (at least judging by the number of Steam reviews). Some, however, had been on Steam for years and had hundreds of positive reviews at the time they … [Read more...] about 15 reasons games disappear from Steam
By Russ Burlingame - December 5, 2019 01:25 am EST Share 0 Comments 0 The final chapter in the Skywalker Saga is hitting theaters in under a month now, and filmmaker J.J. Abrams told Entertainment Tonight that he felt more pressure making this movie than he did reviving the franchise in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. During a group interview with the cast of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Abrams had no doubts which part of the job was harder when Star Wars expert Ash Crossan posed the question to him. Yeah, it's tough to come on board and bring the most beloved film franchise maybe in history back to "life" after years away...but that's nothing to having to close the book on it. Abrams, who is no stranger to high expectations and having to try and stick a difficult landing with projects ranging from LOST to Star Trek, weighed in on why it was harder bringing the 40-year-old story to a close. "Not starting it," he said. "Wrapping it up for sure, … [Read more...] about J.J. Abrams Reveals if It Was Harder to Start or End the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
