This year's Call of Duty returns to World War 2, according to fresh reports in part verified by Eurogamer. Modern Warzone reported this year's new Call of Duty is in development at Sledgehammer Games, maker of 2017's well-received Call of Duty: WW2, and is due out late 2021. Eurogamer sources have indicated this is indeed true. Modern Warzone also reports this game is codenamed Call of Duty WW2: Vanguard, and reports the name will be changed in the future. While this may indeed be the case, Eurogamer understands Activision's current plan is to stick with the Vanguard subtitle for the final version. Modern Warzone also reports "the entire game takes place in an alternate timeline where 1945 wasn't the end of World War 2", and is set in the 1950s. Woody Harrelson is set to star in the upcoming WW2 psychological thriller The Man With the Miraculous Hands, according to Variety . It's an adaptation of the snappily titled The Man With the Miraculous Hands: The Fantastic Story of Felix Kersten, Himmler's Private Doctor, written by Joseph Kessel. Harrelson will play Kersten, a doctor who ends up working for the Nazis against his will, treating one of the most powerful men in Nazi Germany, Heinrich Himmler. Based on a true story, the novel is being adapted by Oren Moverman who Harrelson previously worked with on another WW2 drama, The Messenger. "Even 70 years on after the end of the conflict, the Second World War still manages to reveal some of the most deeply moving untold stories of those who managed to triumph against adversity,” said producer Eric Jehelmann, who added that the original story “sheds new light on the end of the war." The World War 2 multiplayer shooter Enlisted , announced way back in 2016 as a 100-player game that will focus on historical recreations over "sports-like competitions," is finally headed to open beta. Publisher Gaijin Entertainment announced today that the large-scale FPS will finish closed beta testing and open its doors to everyone on April 8. The launch of the open beta will see the Invasion of Normandy and Battle for Moscow campaigns currently available in the closed beta test expanded with new and more accurately modelled weapons and vehicles like the Browning M1918A2 machine gun and FG 42 II assault rifle, P-38J fighter, German Pz.IV H. tank, Soviet RM-50 mortar, and more. Each player controls an entire squad of soldiers and you can swap between squad members at any time, with the rest of your group being controlled by AI teammates.
