The Flash movie has its Supergirl--and the casting is historic, as Sasha Calle will be the first Latina actress to portray the character. The Flash director Andy Muschietti revealed the casting on social media, where he posted a video of himself telling the actress she'd gotten the part. Calle, who is Colombian, is best known for her role on the long-running soap opera The Young and the Restless over the last few years. In the video, Muschietti calls her apparently under the pretense of needing to ask some follow-up questions, but the actress begins to realize something is up when he opens with "Can you fly?" Calle breaks down into happy tears after the director tells her, "You're Supergirl." Capcom’s reliance on timed, limited demos are a relic from a bygone era
Capcom has always had a strange affinity for timed demos. For the first weekend in May, PC and Xbox owners will be able to play … [Read more...] about Capcom’s reliance on timed, limited demos are a relic from a bygone era

More than ten years after its original release, cult classic JRPG Nier Replicant is being rebuilt for modern hardware. Debuting on PS3, Nier originally followed a father's quest to cure his ailing young daughter Yonah. Now Nier returns reimagined as a previously Japan-exclusive teen protagonist and his journey to heal Yonah – now his sister – has been extensively retooled. Nier Replicant producer, Yosuke Saito, tells us, "The base of the story is the same, but the differences in setting change the style and content of dialogue, so I think that the biggest appeal is the difference in emotional experiences." As for the other changes, Saito says, "I believe that [original director] Yoko Taro was being modest when he decided to call it a Version Up." He elaborates, "Character and background designs were all revamped. […] Some scenarios cut from the original have been added. Character dialogue is now fully voiced, and the popular music has all been given new arrangements and … [Read more...] about Why Nier: Replicant had to be made, and why it’s “so much more than a simple version up”
