By Matthew Aguilar - December 14, 2019 10:16 am EST Share 0 Comments 0 Witcher fans have received glimpses of many iconic characters and moments from the world of The Witcher in previous trailers and clips from Netflix's upcoming series, but a new piece of concept art gives us our first real look at Kaer Morhen. Kaer Morhen is a place Geralt and Witcher fans know well, and thanks to IGN we've got our first look at the show's version of the Witcher Keep (via RedanianIntelligence). It's a bit dark, as it is briefly shown as part of the clip, but we lightened it up a bit. You can definitely see the fortress on a hill with several columns in the area below, which acts as the training area for Witchers. We can't wait to see what it looks like in the show, and you can check out the art below. For those unfamiliar with The Witcher, Kaer Morhen is a former Keep for Witchers of the School of the Wolf, which Geralt is a part of. There are other schools as well, but … [Read more...] about Netflix’s The Witcher Reveals First Look at Kaer Morhen

Spider-Man: Far From Home Director Reveals Origin of Elemental Monsters
By Charlie Ridgely - May 7, 2019 11:35 am EDT Share 2 Comments 2 Monday morning marked the lifting of Joe and Anthony Russo's "spoiler ban" on Avengers: Endgame, meaning that everyone is now allowed to talk openly about the events of the top-secret movie. That apparently includes Marvel and Sony, as the two studios released a new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home that was filled with spoilers from Endgame. The new footage gave fans the first glimpse at the post-Endgame MCU, and took Peter Parker's story in a much different direction. Not only is Peter no longer in his neighborhood this time around, but he's also facing a threat unlike anything he's ever seen. Nick Fury tasks Peter and his new "ally" Mysterio with taking on this threat, which arrives in the form of three massive elemental monsters. Their origin has yet to be explained in any of the trailers, but director Jon Watts was recently asked about these monsters during an interview with Fandango. … [Read more...] about Spider-Man: Far From Home Director Reveals Origin of Elemental Monsters

Our first impressions of PlanetSide Arena’s chaotic team battle royale
Home • PlanetSide Arena • 9 Drop it like it's pod RPS Hivemind 20th September 2019 / 3:00PM Raise the purple flag, comrades. PlanetSide Arena came out yesterday, bringing some royale to PlanetSide 2’s vast battles in a spin-off game of jeeps and jetpacks. Its big thing is that everyone has a quad in their back pocket, but another major draw are the big 12-person team battles. That’s in keeping with the scale of the bottomless futurewar, but is it as shooty and adrenal-gland-taxing as other battle royale games? Sin and Brendy crash landed on the murderplanet and joined some big fights to find out. Sin: I kind of want to play it some more. That probably means it works, right? But then I could also go for getting back into Planetside 2, which wouldn’t frustrate me as much by not letting me be a cunning and sexy Infiltrator like back in the day. Which raises the question of who it’s for. Planetside 2 players? New players? I suspect the … [Read more...] about Our first impressions of PlanetSide Arena’s chaotic team battle royale
Tales from the Borderlands Season One review
Both witty and touching, Tales of the Borderlands sees Telltale at its very best. What a weird trajectory Borderlands has had. Its debut effort was originally going to be a fairly gritty apocalyptic space marine matinee before Gearbox decided to drastically revamp its art style and tone for a more comic book-inspired approach. From what I gather, having never played it, it was an enjoyable co-op action-RPG with a lacklustre story and an abundance of brown. Gearbox addressed these concerns by creating a more colourful sequel, both literally and figuratively, with a wide array of whimsical characters and witty banter. It became such a phenomenon that you didn't need to actually play it to know who Claptrap or Tiny Tina were; they simply became ubiquitous mascots in the AAA space. Head to the nearest video game convention and Borderlands would be rivalled only by Assassin's Creed for inspiring the greatest number of cosplayers. But at its heart Borderlands was always a … [Read more...] about Tales from the Borderlands Season One review
