Nvidia RTX 3060 Launch Date Revealed, According To Report

A report from gaming site Wccftech claims that Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card will come out February 25 at 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT. Nvidia has been releasing its 30-series graphics cards at a steady clip over the past few months, and the 3060 will be their cheapest offering yet for this generation. The card comes with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and supports ray-tracing.Nvidia previously said that the RTX 3060 would release later in February, but this report is the first indication of a concrete release date. The report did not cite any specific source. Though the card has not been released yet, a Redditor posted a picture of a Gigabyte 3060 RTX they claimed to have bought from a store in a cryptocurrency mining subreddit. That user posted some of the card's technical specs, but it's unclear if they're reliable.Though the RTX 3060 has an MSRP of $330, the actual pricing will depend heavily on availability and specific manufacturer. Indeed, the RTX 30-series has become ground zero for the … [Read more...] about Nvidia RTX 3060 Launch Date Revealed, According To Report

A lot more games are about to get framerate-boosting Nvidia DLSS support

Yesterday Nvidia dropped its DLSS plugin into the Unreal Marketplace, thus enabling a lot more game developers to start using its Deep Learning Super Sampling tech in their games. This is great news both for Nvidia's tech and for us gamers, as it should mean that more games end up offering support for the upscaling technology, which can see framerates almost double with no obvious loss in quality . Screen queens Best gaming monitor : pixel-perfect panels for your PC Best 4K monitor for gaming : when only high-res will do Best 4K TV for gaming : big-screen 4K PC gaming Ray tracing may be the headline-grabbing feature of Nvidia's first- and second-gen RTX graphics cards, but it's actually DLSS that has impressed us the most. The tech essentially lets your games render at a lower resolution and then upscale them to higher resolutions, such as 4K, without the framerate hit that would normally incur. It's the tech we want in more games, and this announcement … [Read more...] about A lot more games are about to get framerate-boosting Nvidia DLSS support

CES 2019: Nvidia’s RTX 2060 Revealed With Release Date And Price

Nvidia revealed a new video card, the GeForce RTX 2060, during its live press conference to kick off CES 2019 on Sunday evening. It joins the RTX 20-series family next week--its release date is set for January 15--and pricing for RTX 2060 cards will start at $350, though exact prices will vary depending on model and manufacturer. Many claims were made at CES about the performance of the RTX 2060, and it is said on par with or better than the GTX 1070 Ti (see our review of the 1070 Ti to get an idea of its performance). According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, the GeForce RTX 2060 can handle Battlefield V at 1440p resolution with an average of 60 FPS. Several benchmarks and metrics were shown; compared to the GTX 1060, last generation's mid-range card, the RTX 2060 can perform between 1.4 to about 1.9 times better at 1440p with high settings (depending on the game). Nvidia's RTX line of video cards boasts the ability to efficiently perform real-time ray tracing, which … [Read more...] about CES 2019: Nvidia’s RTX 2060 Revealed With Release Date And Price

This $299 laptop is a super affordable way to play games on GeForce Now

Remember when netbooks were a thing? If you would have told me back then that, for around the same money, laptops in a decade would be capable of playing games with ray-traced visuals, I never would have believed it. Yet here we are living in that reality, courtesy in part to deals like this one—an Evoo notebook marked down to $299 at Walmart (save $200) that could actually be turned into a viable gaming laptop. The other part of the equation is GeForce Now. On its own, this Evoo system does not have the anywhere near the necessary pixel-pushing grunt to play ray-traced games. But Nvidia's cloud gaming service takes most of the pressure off of local hardware, so even low-end PCs can join in the fun, including ones with integrated graphics.Bargain priced cloud gaming candidateEvoo 15.6-Inch Ultra Thin Laptop | 1080p | Core i7 7560U | 8GB RAM | 256GB SSD | $499 $299 at Walmart (save $200)View DealThis is a 15.6-inch laptop with a 1080p display. GeForce Now Adds Cyberpunk 2077, Control, And More To Its Catalogue Of Supported Games

GeForce Now launched out of beta almost a year ago, but it's taken that long for the service to finally have a curated list of supported games released by Nvidia. The list is the biggest part of this week's update to the service, allowing you to quickly see which games that you currently own can be streamed. Previously, you could've linked your Steam library to GeForce Now to have supported games highlighted, but there was no solution for other storefronts like the Epic Games Store and GOG beyond simple trial and error. GeForce Now works with games you already own instead of presenting you a list of titles to purchase, so having an update catalogue of supported titles makes it easy to pick out which you can accelerate with Nvidia's powerful remote hardware. New games that join the service today include Control , Metro Exodus , Watch Dogs: Legion , and Cyberpunk 2077 . All three are hardware-intensive and feature cutting-edge graphical technology such as ray tracing, … [Read more...] about GeForce Now Adds Cyberpunk 2077, Control, And More To Its Catalogue Of Supported Games
