Treyarch has released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and almost all of it addresses issues players have encountered since Outbreak launched with Season 2. The ambitious new mode is a large-scale spin on Zombies, complete with its own story, so it's hardly surprising that some rough edges needed to be fixed. Outbreak received a general stability improvement as part of the update, particularly regarding objectives and both the Krasny Soldat and the Dragon Relic. You also shouldn't see Mimics teleport away after they're spawned from loot chests, nor should the HVT Megaton split when it's hit by a vehicle. A few other fixes were also included in the update, such as UI and tooltips not showing up correctly, and a player's Operator model disappearing. Microsoft is reportedly testing 1080p for Xbox Game Pass cloud streaming. According to Windows Central , anonymous but "trusted" sources sent screenshots of Hellblade running via xCloud, alleging that the streaming resolution was 1920x1080. Up until now, the hardware had previously only been able to run in 720p, but it seems Microsoft is now planning to refresh the streaming servers from "Xbox One architecture" to that of the Xbox Series X. If successful, it will bring xCloud in line with other streaming services such as GeForce Now and Google Stadia, which already offer 1080p (thanks, VG24/7 ). Microsoft already offers game streaming to Android devices as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and previously announced it would build a browser-based solution to get around Apple's restrictions which have blocked an xCloud app for iPhones and iPads. If you like Warhammer 40,000, have I got the mod for you: Unification Mod for Dawn of War: Soulstorm is a sprawling remaster, bugfix, faction-adder, and game mode adder that works for both the Steam and (to my delight ) Actual Physical DVD versions of Dawn of War: Soulstorm. The unification mod adds new art and units for the nine base game factions, as well as 17 new factions. The big selling point of Unification is the new factions, but realistically you'll get a lot of mileage out of improved AI, as well as big updates in the campaign and new win conditions usable in its missions. There are also new Survival, Last Stand, and Kill-Team mission types. Survival and Last Stand are particularly appealing to those who prefer their RTS to be PvE and cooperative. Doom Eternal has reportedly generated $450 million in revenue in the first nine months of its release. According to the LinkedIn profile of a former id Software, the first-person shooter was a "major focus" for the studio, and while Bethesda had hinted that Doom Eternal was the franchise's biggest launch to date, this is the first time we've seen revenue figures attached to the claim. That said, we can only take it with a bucket full of skeptical salt for now. While the id employee was self-described as a former "monetization designer" and product management lead, the LinkedIn profile is now no longer publicly accessible. Thankfully, the eagle-eyed folks at ResetEra were able to snip a screenshot of the $450m revenue claim before it was taken down.
