Wrong Turn Remake Director Reveals Scene That Landed NC-17 Rating

Wrong Turn got a very different remake this year--moving away from cannibal hillbillies to focus on a more civilized people who live off-the-grid in the Appalachian mountains called The Foundation. However, there was one scene cut from the movie that landed it the infamous NC-17 rating. During the Wrong Turn audio commentary from director Mike P. Nelson, he explained the exact moment where the MPAA slapped the naughty rating on it. "[The] execution scene with Adam here was the moment in the movie in which we got an NC-17 from the MPAA," Nelson explained during the movie. The scene in question features travelling city-boy Adam about to be executed in a bizarre court of law by The Foundation after Adam is found guilty of murdering another member of the hermit tribe. "Originally, this scene played straight through, in which you saw Adam get his head bashed in, and it did not cut away, like it's going to do there," Nelson continued. "It keeps going and going, and you see his head … [Read more...] about Wrong Turn Remake Director Reveals Scene That Landed NC-17 Rating

Hugh Grant To Menace The Heroes of the Dungeons & Dragons Movie

The heroes of any Dungeons & Dragons game are at a loss if they don't have a villain to battle. Read Only Memories: Neurodivers revels in the corrupted past

2064: Read Only Memories might have my favourite opening of any game ever. I'm thinking specifically about the bit you can play in a demo on Steam. You're a writer, sat in your tiny apartment, procrastinating about writing a review of some fancy new headphones. You manage to power through the review and go to sleep after flicking eyes across the local news, and then you wake up in the middle of the night when a polite robot breaks in and tidies up. 2064 is the work of MidBoss, a studio based in Berkeley, California, and which specialises in games with a LGBTQIA+ focus and a strong sense of diversity and inclusivity. The game is an adventure affair set in a future poised on the brink of three singularities, and in the opening ten minutes there's a brilliant joke about being a writer and an excellent discussion of Asimov's laws of robotics. I've spent the morning playing the demo for Read Only Memories: Neurodiver , the studio's follow-up. It's every bit as good as 2064. It might … [Read more...] about Read Only Memories: Neurodivers revels in the corrupted past

No, birds are not flying away with boats in Valheim

There are plenty of strange sights in Valheim, from the mysterious shadowy stranger to the occasional Millennium Falcon . But there's recently been a new sighting in the sky, and it definitely shouldn't be there. Some players have reported (and recorded) ships flying around in the air, which isn't typically a thing ships should be doing. We're not talking about the ships being deliberately launched by sliding them down mountainsides and off ramps . We mean boats simply just taking off and zipping around in the sky like airplanes: The Flying Dutchman - an absolute staple of Norse mythology. from r/valheim Rumors quickly spread that the reason the boat was flying was because a bird had landed on it, and that somehow transferred ownership of the boat to the feathered creature. When the boat-owning bird took off, it carried the boat with it. At least that's what some players said. But that's apparently not the case. We emailed Iron Gate Studios about the rumor, and … [Read more...] about No, birds are not flying away with boats in Valheim
