WandaVision included a Wolverine Easter egg that hardly anyone noticed, it has been revealed. In the Halloween-themed episode 6 which saw Wanda and Vision wear traditional, comic-accurate costumes (while their twins Billy and Tommy also resembled their superhero alter-egos ), Quicksilver rocked a hairstyle very similar to the one worn by Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, in a possible reference to Evan Peters' time in the Fox X-Men universe. Tricia Sawyer, makeup department head for the series, and Karen Bartek, hair department head, confirmed to Indie Wire that this comparison was in fact intentional. "It was something that Matt [Shakman, director] really [wanted]. They kind of planned that," Bartek commented, while Sawyer also confirmed that the intention was to mix the Fox and Marvel universes. Peters' version of Quicksilver in the MCU was the subject of much speculation, and it eventually turned out that Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness was behind the new Pietro, as … [Read more...] about WandaVision stylist confirms a Wolverine reference that no-one noticed

Someone has figured out how to reduce GTA Online’s load times by almost 70%
Grand Theft Auto 5 's loading times have been the butt of many a joke over the last seven years—even the beefiest of PCs will leave players twiddling their thumbs while that blonde lady throws a peace sign at her phone for the millionth time. The agonising wait has led one savvy player to delve into the game's code, and with some tweaking has managed to reduce the loading times by almost 70%. GitHub user tostercx has uploaded the fixed code , though they do warn that it's more of a proof of concept and not intended for casual use. They were also kind enough to provide a breakdown of the entire process . The lengthy loading times—tostercx experienced a six minute wait for GTA Online to boot up—are, in part, attributed to some terribly optimised code and a 10MB JSON file containing 63,000 item entries. Every time an item is found, the check then runs again… and again. tostercx estimated that this leads to around 1,984,531,500 checks. This, along with the fact the game was … [Read more...] about Someone has figured out how to reduce GTA Online’s load times by almost 70%
Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris mode has been disabled because of a match fixing ring
Destiny 2 's competitive PVP mode, Trials Of Osiris, has been put on hold once more, after a community effort found a way to farm free flawless cards—reaching seven wins without taking a loss—using a mix of character-switching, dice-rolls, and a good old fashioned secret code. The exploit is explained above by YouTuber Lunarated, who noticed that he was getting a lot of free wins against fireteams using the Hakke emblem. A little bit of digging later, and it became clear that there was a massive community exploit going on in the China/Hong Kong region, using Hakke banners as a signifier that you were involved in a widespread match-fixing ring. Here's how it works. A team of three queues for Trials using burner characters, with two members using Hakke emblems to communicate intent. If you queue against another team using normal emblems, back out—you don't care about eating a loss on this character, so you can take the hit. Things get interesting when you match against … [Read more...] about Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris mode has been disabled because of a match fixing ring
Mystery Square Enix franchise is getting a set of new remakes
It looks like a Square Enix series is in line for a number of remakes, all coming from the company behind the recent Panzer Dragoon: Remake. A press release from Polish gaming company Forever Entertainment (via ResetEra user sebbbbe_WiiG ) reveals that it's entered a deal with Square Enix Japan to make multiple remakes, all of which are based on a single intellectual property. Which series is it actually working on? The press release says Forever and Square will withhold that information until it's time for a proper marketing campaign to begin. While we don't know which games will be coming back, we do know that the gameplay and story are set to be the same as in the originals. Most of the enhancements will be focused on modernizing the games' visuals, which was also the case with the Panzer Dragoon remake. Square Enix has a massive portfolio of intellectual properties, even if you don't count international games it has published like Tomb Raider and Deus Ex, so this … [Read more...] about Mystery Square Enix franchise is getting a set of new remakes
