We've heard a lot of chatter about the height of a certain horror villain recently, but an unknown Silent Hill fan wants you to remember that Pyramid Head was here first. The apparently fan-owned site Silenthill.com now shows a picture of Silent Hill 2's Pyramid Head with a height diagram for scale, confirming that he is indeed nine feet tall. The message "he was first" accompanies the image, making its intended effect quite clear.Your love for Lady Dimitrescu is loud and clear. 👒pic.twitter.com/Lj4m5pN2dJ — Resident Evil (@RE_Games) February 2, 2021This is clearly a response to the popularity of Resident Evil Village's Lady Dimitrescu, a very tall vampire lady who really wants to kill protagonist Ethan Winters. Silent Hill Interview Pulled From YouTube After Composer Seemingly Teases New Entry

The making of Labyrinth: The Computer Game – “We didn’t know how popular it was going to be”
When you look closely at its many elements, Labyrinth has all the ingredients for a rollicking adventure video game – an impenetrable maze, an enigmatic antagonist, traps, puzzles, and a whole bestiary of goblins and other fantastical characters, courtesy of Jim Henson's Creature Shop. A creative collaboration between Jim Henson and Lucasfilm, with a story by Monty Python's Terry Jones, Labyrinth was the second fantasy movie from Jim Henson's studio after 1982's The Dark Crystal. "Labyrinth was the first film project that Lucasfilm offered as a licence to us," recalls the game's lead designer and programmer, David Fox. "They said they were doing this project and asked if we'd be interested in doing a game version, so we saw an early script and a videotape that showed some excerpts of some … [Read more...] about The making of Labyrinth: The Computer Game – “We didn’t know how popular it was going to be”

The two former Rare developers detail how there were only 90 bugs left to quash in the QA stage of the Xbox 360 remaster, which is an incredibly low number for a big release. This all follows after the GoldenEye remaster for Xbox 360 leaked online last week, revealing the remaster that we never got to play. Shortly after, a playable version of the canceled project leaked online, with the user who first uncovered it using an Xenia emulator to achieve a high frame rate.Taking a look at the leaked playable version of the GoldenEye remaster, Bury and Edmonds tell Ars Technica that a "more final" version of the build existed, and cleaned up a few issues encountered … [Read more...] about GoldenEye Xbox 360 remaster was nearly complete, according to former devs
The Top 7… Videogames that should be board games
Board game adaptations of popular videogame aren’t exactly uncommon, and with tabletop versions of Plants vs. Zombies and Angry Birds on their way it’s clear the trend isn’t going to stop any time soon. But rather than convert the latest mega-hit for quick cash, we think the (board) game industry should dig a little deeper and transfer some all-time videogame classics to the tabletop format. Above: However, a popular license doesn’t mean board game success… But not every classic game will survive the transition. The Civilization board game, as you might expect, was great; the original PC classic plays a lot like a board game already, so that’s an easy fit. Myst, on the other hand, boiled down to a race between two people to see who could put a jigsaw puzzle together faster. It wasn’t exactly The Settlers of Catan, and definitely didn’t capture what we loved about the videogame. The games we’ve chosen, on the other hand, all contain some aspect that perfectly translates to the … [Read more...] about The Top 7… Videogames that should be board games
