This year’s Battlefield is the work of four EA studios
DICE, Criterion, DICE Los Angeles and Electronic Arts Gothenberg are collaborating on this year's under-wraps Battlefield. It is the "biggest team ever on a Battlefield game", EA has said. A fifth studio, Midnight Star developer Industrial Toys, is making an entirely separate Battlefield game for mobile. This will arrive for smartphones and tablets in 2022. "We're in daily playtesting mode right now: polishing, balancing, and making the best possible Battlefield game we can. I can tell you it is a bold step," DICE boss Oskar Gabrielson said in a blog post today. "It has everything we love about Battlefield - and takes all of it to the next level. Epic scale. All-out military warfare. Crazy, unexpected moments. Game-changing destruction. Massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before. All brought to life with the power of next-gen consoles and PCs." The mention specifically of next-gen consoles ties in to earlier whispers this year's Battlefield will … [Read more...] about This year’s Battlefield is the work of four EA studios
We talk to Disco Elysium’s incredible narrator, who recorded 350,000 words of dialogue and has never acted before
Disco Elysium's free Final Cut update adds new quests and full voice acting to the game, making a great RPG even better . For me, the highlight of the update is the deep, melodic voice of the narrator, who brings the turmoil raging inside Harry's head to life brilliantly. The man behind this incredible performance is Lenval Brown, a musician from London who, remarkably, has never acted in anything major before. I sat down with him—along with voice director Cash DeCuir—to talk about his work on the Final Cut, and what it was like recording nearly half a million words of dialogue for a videogame. How did you get involved with Disco Elysium? Lenval Brown: It's a crazy, long journey. You know, you're going along in life and then you meet someone and it all changes. Like the game itself, life leads you down different paths. A friend of mine was at college in London studying anthropology. That's where she met Kaur Kender (executive producer on Disco Elysium.) They became friends and … [Read more...] about We talk to Disco Elysium’s incredible narrator, who recorded 350,000 words of dialogue and has never acted before
The 9 biggest changes to Verdansk ’84 in Call of Duty: Warzone
It took months of slowly encroaching zombies and a gigantic nuclear blast to get to this point, but Call of Duty: Warzone's revamped map, Verdansk '84, is finally upon us. The map update turns back the clock on the original map almost 40 years to align with the narrative of Black Ops – Cold War following the nuclear destruction of Verdansk in the present. It's springtime in Verdansk '84. The region's muted midday greys have been traded for an early morning burnt orange with more vibrant vegetation and buildings that finally don't mind sporting a bit of color. Don't get it wrong, though—even this colorful reimagining of Verdansk is still an arid wasteland compared to Fortnite's heavily saturated worlds (this is still Call of Duty). The general layout of the map hasn't fundamentally changed, but many of its landmarks have been replaced with new or similar structures. Other familiar spots, like the Airport, have been heavily reworked with a new layout that Raven Software hopes will … [Read more...] about The 9 biggest changes to Verdansk ’84 in Call of Duty: Warzone
Latest Call of Duty: Warzone patch adds DLSS support, finally
Back in January, Nvidia announced during its Game On livestream that DLSS support would be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone . And now at long last it's here, announced in the patch notes for Warzone Season 3 . DLSS, which stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling, is Nvidia's tech that provides performance boosts at high-resolution. You'll need a GeForce RTX card to try it out, but if you're rocking anything from the 20-series up it's worth turning on. And not just in Warzone, but in games like Control, Death Stranding, and any others that support the feature. Warzone's Season 3 update, which is a merciful 25.2 GB download , brings the limited-time event Hunt for Adler, which is kicking off on April 22, as well as 100 tiers of stuff to earn in the new battle pass. It also marks the destruction of the Verdansk map beginning with a nuke that just got dropped on it . Maybe hold off on racing to gawp at that though, since everyone's stuck on Rebirth Island right now. … [Read more...] about Latest Call of Duty: Warzone patch adds DLSS support, finally
