In the world of games, both GamesRadar and TechRadar enjoyed the next-gen console version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. Exclusive: Hot Wheels Unleashed Gameplay Shows Off Lightning-Fast Racing
Hot Wheels Unleashed is the next game in the decades-long toy and video game franchise, and GameSpot has an exclusive new gameplay video showcasing the fast-paced micro-racer in action. Announced back in February, with an expected release on September 30 this year for current platforms, it will feature many of the familiar aspects of Hot Wheels, such as cool racing vehicles and complex orange tracks with some bizarre loops and turns. Our recent hands-on with the game gave us a chance to check out three unique tracks: Spider Trial, Speed Vault, and Dragon’s Den. In keeping with Hot Wheels' style and aesthetic, which features a variety of stylized muscle and sports cars, the races turned into hectic brawls on the track where crashes and conflicts with other racers were common. What's interesting about the pedigree behind Hot Wheels Unleashed is that it's coming from developer Milestone, the same team behind racing sims like the MotoGP and Ride franchises. Just before the reveal, … [Read more...] about Exclusive: Hot Wheels Unleashed Gameplay Shows Off Lightning-Fast Racing
Fast and Furious 9 trailer breakdown: director Justin Lin talks flying cars, John Cena, and Han’s return
Fast and Furious 9’s history of delays, including twice shifting back in the schedules thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, is now firmly in the rear-view mirror. The arrival of a new F9 trailer marks the moment where the franchise is putting its foot down and going full speed ahead as it hurtles towards the final stretch of the Fast and Furious saga. As you might have expected after watching the trailer, there is plenty to discuss. Not least of which the introduction of flying cars, rocket cars, and cars with magnets. The series, then, has come a long way from its street racing days in the likes of Tokyo Drift. On that note, Tokyo Drift’s Han (Sung Kang) is back and we're eager to see how his comeback factors into the war of words – and wheels – between Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto and his newly-introduced brother, Jakob (John Cena). GamesRadar+ had the chance to sit down with director Justin Lin – helming his fifth movie in the franchise and first since 2013’s Fast and Furious 6 – … [Read more...] about Fast and Furious 9 trailer breakdown: director Justin Lin talks flying cars, John Cena, and Han’s return
The car in Rocket League’s next Rocket Pass looks cool, rest of it is so-so
I wasn't into the R3mix car body in Rocket League's Season 2 Rocket Pass, so I skipped the premium track and used my Epic class action settlement credits to buy that annoying goal explosion that blows everyone up with missiles. Sorry for being that guy. (It could be worse, I could've bought the Ford F-150.) I think I'll struggle to resist the upcoming Season 3 Rocket Pass premium track, though. I really like the new car body, Tyranno, which has the Dominus hitbox. I especially like the stupid Tyranno variant and decal Psyonix shows off on the Season 3 Rocket Pass page —the one in the gallery below, which looks like it was designed to hurt our eyes by the dark lord of chromatic aberration. Image 1 of 2 Image 2 of 2 That appears to be a Tyranno variant with the Huntress decal and some new wheels—it's horrible stuff that will make me stand out in the worst way, which is often what I want in Rocket League. The only thing I don't particularly like about the Tyranno … [Read more...] about The car in Rocket League’s next Rocket Pass looks cool, rest of it is so-so
