WandaVision: Who Is Agatha Harkness And Why Does She Matter?

In WandaVision Episode 7, we learned a shocking (or not-so-shocking, depending on how deeply embroiled in fan theories you've been since the show's premiere) truth about Kathryn Hahn's Agnes. Surprise! She's actually been Agatha Harkness all along, and she even gets her very own theme song to prove it. But, like many things in WandaVision, this reveal only served to raise more questions than it answered--namely: Who the hell is Agatha Harkness and why does she matter in Wanda's story? And naturally, while this is still very much a mystery for the MCU, we can look to Agatha's bizarre comic book history for clues. Agatha Harkness was first introduced in Fantastic Four #94 back in 1970, but before you break out the red string and start connecting dots on your MCU F4 conspiracy walls just yet, know that her role with the first family of Marvel was a little odd. Rather than existing as a villain for anyone in the Richards family, Agatha was a governess--a fancy nanny--to Reed and Sue's … [Read more...] about WandaVision: Who Is Agatha Harkness And Why Does She Matter?

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection review – hard as ever, but clever with it

Beautiful difficulty options open out a game of beautiful difficulty. This game casts a spell. A very particular spell. It is hard as they come, punishing, brutal, unforgiving in its challenge. And yet I love it still. It's not just difficult. It has a perspective on difficulty. It makes its sheer level of horribleness first endearing and then thrilling. You know Ghosts 'n Goblins by now. 2D action-platformers with a horror vibe. You know the dark of the series' scrolling night. The creep and shudder of the monsters rising from its graveyards. You are a knight, powerful but also delicate, the merest hit shedding you of your armour and leaving you scampering around in your underwear. It is a gothic world, devils and skeletons, but it's also quietly funny: that underwear, but also huge hands descending from the sky to grab you, and there's something charming and comedic about the fist-pumping, knees-up run of yours, somehow so little of the expressed energy channeled into … [Read more...] about Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection review – hard as ever, but clever with it

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players have worked out a way to play Outbreak early

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players have worked out a way to play Outbreak early. Outbreak, a hotly-anticipated large-scale Zombies mode for up to four players, isn't supposed to go live until the launch of Season Two tomorrow at 6pm UK time, Thursday 25th February. But it is playable now - after downloading this morning's Season Two update . To play Outbreak, download the update, then go offline. Log into Black Ops Cold War then, in Zombies, on the Find Games tab, create a match. In this offline custom games portion of Zombies, you're able to select Outbreak and play on Alpine, Ruka or Golova. I've verified this works on PlayStation 5, and have been playing Outbreak solo this morning. Obviously playing online Outbreak is not possible yet. Outbreak gameplay is now flooding YouTube, as you'd expect: … [Read more...] about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players have worked out a way to play Outbreak early

A US politician is trying to ban violent video games in Illinois

Not for the first time, a US politician is seeking a ban on violent video games - and on this occasion it's coming from a Democrat in Chicago. Illinois state representative Marcus C. Evans Jr. is seeking to amend a 2012 Illinois law that bans underage children from accessing violent video games. If passed, HB3531 would prohibit "the sale of all violent video games" in the state, with a penalty of up to $1000 (£709) for those selling violent games. It would also modify the definition of a violent video game to one that "allows a user or player to control a character within the video game that is encouraged to perpetuate human-on-human violence in which the player kills or otherwise causes serious physical or psychological harm to another human or an animal". The bill would also expand the definition of "serious physical harm" to include a range of other types of violence, including "motor vehicle theft with a driver or passenger present inside the vehicle when the theft begins". … [Read more...] about A US politician is trying to ban violent video games in Illinois
