This March on HBO Max, the rubber hits the road on a pair of movies you've likely been hearing about and following for quite a while. You probably don't even need us to say this, but the next month brings both Zack Snyder's Justice League and Godzilla Vs. Kong. There are, of course, other bright spots worth designating as appointment television as well--let's get into it. To work our way backwards through next month, on March 31, the highly anticipated monster movie Godzilla vs. Kong will hit the streaming platform. The movie is also hitting theaters, but for those who are still observing quarantine HBO Max is obviously the preferable way to catch it. We'd tell you the movie's plot so you have an idea of what to expect, but what's to know? It's freakin' King Kong and Godzilla beating on each other. This is the fourth movie in MonsterVerse, following Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). What you may need a little bit of a … [Read more...] about New On HBO Max March 2021: Godzilla Vs. Kong, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, South ParQ Vaccination Special, And More

Zack Snyder Releases Sample Of Junkie XL’s Justice League Score
Zack Snyder's Justice League is just a month away, and the director is working hard to hype the picture up before its debut on HBO Max. If you haven't been paying attention, it would be easy to dismiss it as a director's cut, but the project has involved extensive reshoots, re-done visual effects, and a totally new score that replaces Danny Elfman's score with the one originally created by Thomas Holkenborg, better known as Junkie XL. Snyder dropped the first track from the score on social media today to give us a hint of what we can expect. Take a listen. https://t.co/aUO7BU4kEz @Junkie_XL #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague #SnyderCut — Zack Snyder (@ZackSnyder) February 17, 2021 Snyder had previously revealed a short clip of the track, titled The Crew at Warpower. This is the full song, though, clocking in at 6:49. It definitely has some of Junkie XL's trademark sound, with the percussion calling to mind some of the best tracks from his work on Mad Max: Fury Road . … [Read more...] about Zack Snyder Releases Sample Of Junkie XL’s Justice League Score
Valheim’s strengths lie in cosiness, co-operation and small huts
"Alright warrior," Valheim's raven narrator Hugin told me when I first booted up the game. "Odin's counting on you to slay a bunch of horrible creatures then ascend to Valhalla. It's a perilous journey and you'll need to arm yourself properly to defeat the Forsaken. Are you up for the task?" "Sure, sure," I said in reply. "But those small huts over there look kinda cute." If you hadn't yet guessed, I've spent most of my time in Valheim simply building and renovating small cabins. The survival game is split into several biomes, each with its own unique enemies and materials, but it took me at least 15 hours to leave the first - and I've once again found myself constructing tiny homes in the second. Whenever I stumble across ruins I feel obligated to fix them up, like some sort of Viking real estate show. I'm calling it Homes Under Thor's Hammer. I almost began to feel guilty for delaying exploration to satisfy my building obsession, until I realised Valheim actively encourages … [Read more...] about Valheim’s strengths lie in cosiness, co-operation and small huts
Zack Snyder Isn’t Getting Paid For Snyder Cut, Reshoots Cost $70 Million
Ahead of the release of the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League, Zack Snyder has shared some new insights into his work on the re-cut version of the film. Among other details, he shared that he isn't being paid to create this version of the movie, nor has he ever seen the original theatrical version of Justice League. This was shared as part of a new Vanity Fair profile, which is bursting with new insights that will likely be revelatory for hardcore and fair-weather fans alike--including the fact that the persistent rumors that Snyder himself asked Joss Whedon for help finishing the film were false. Instead, says Snyder, at the time he tried to make the best of a bad situation and remained optimistic that "maybe he could write cool scenes. I thought that would be fun." And as it turns out, Snyder--at his wife Deborah's (who produced the film) insistence--he has never seen the version Whedon made. A new look at Jared Leto's Joker in Zack Snyder’s ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE’. … [Read more...] about Zack Snyder Isn’t Getting Paid For Snyder Cut, Reshoots Cost $70 Million
This teaser for the next Hearthstone expansion looks very Horde flavored
Blizzard is hinting, none too subtly, at a big Hearthstone reveal coming at this weekend's BlizzCon event: A brief teaser released today suggests the next expansion looks to be leaning heavily on the World of Warcraft source material (as opposed to stuff like League of Explorers, which does not.) The symbol that emerges at the end of the clip is that of the Horde, one of the major factions in WoW, which, along with the very overt orc chanting happening in the background, points toward the new set having a orcish vibe to it. Our in-house WoW expert Steve Messner might have it nailed down further: He suspects something based on Razorfen Kraul , a World of Warcraft dungeon located in the the southern part of the Barrens. It's the ancestral home of the quilboar , for one thing, who can quite clearly be seen surrounding the orcish figure at the center of the video, and there's also that wordplay in the YouTube video title: Quill you be ready? We already know that at least … [Read more...] about This teaser for the next Hearthstone expansion looks very Horde flavored
