Disneyland in California has been cleared to re-open in April. The California Health and Human Services department confirmed recently that Disneyland and other amusement parks in the state can open for business once again with limited capacity beginning on April 1. The move comes as COVID-19 cases in California have fallen, with restrictions eased across the state, as outlined by EW . Disneyland in Anaheim has been closed since March 2020. Its sister park, Disney World in Florida, has been open at a limited capacity since July 2020. The shutdown of Disneyland and the impact of COVID-19 overall on Disney's business has been monumental. The company cut 32,000 jobs in North America alone due to the pandemic. For the first quarter of 2021, Disney still made a profit of $29 million overall, but this was down from a profit of $2.1 billion during the same period the year prior under normal conditions. In other theme park news, the Super Nintendo World theme park in Orlando is now … [Read more...] about Disneyland Can Re-Open In April

Super Nintendo World Theme Park To Open Early 2025 In Florida, Mayor Says
Construction has started again on the "Epic Universe" at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida that will be home to the Super Nintendo World theme park. Now, the local mayor has provided an update for when the attraction may open: early 2025. Jerry Demings shared the update with The Orlando Sentinel , saying that's the projected opening date that he was told by Universal. The park was supposed to open earlier, in 2023, but construction was delayed due to COVID-19. Officially, Universal has not committed to an opening date for the theme park. Crews are getting back to work "immediately," Universal said in a news release. However, the company said it will take "several months" before construction ramps up to "full speed" as it needs to re-hire people to do the work. "Restarting Epic Universe will result in hundreds of jobs within Universal and thousands of jobs across Central Florida," Universal said. "These positions include highly skilled professional positions, all levels of … [Read more...] about Super Nintendo World Theme Park To Open Early 2025 In Florida, Mayor Says
Gem Wizards Tactics is bite-size strategy that pits potato wizards against corporate demons
A pair of demons surround the nearest keep. My team includes a potato armed with sunglasses and a water hose, a robed forest witch (who is also a potato), and a demon-powered bulldozer named George Cybercrime. The splashmaster potato uses his pressurized hose to bump the demons backward into a nearby river. Mr. Cybercrime plows through the nearby forests, paving new road tiles as he rumbles, allowing my mage to close in and use her storm spell to electrocute the now soaking wet enemies for extra damage. It's my first time combining water, lightning, and fresh asphalt to kill videogame demons, but I'm into it. Gem Wizards Tactics is a turn-based strategy game that uses terraforming, permadeath, and a healthy dose of fantasy humor to craft a tiny, arcade-like tactics game with an impressive layer of strategic depth. Each match generates a random battlefield of forests, rivers, plains, and mountains, along with several keeps and groups of enemies. The goal is to capture a handful … [Read more...] about Gem Wizards Tactics is bite-size strategy that pits potato wizards against corporate demons
Six Days In Fallujah Publisher Says Game Isn’t “Political Commentary”
The once-dead, now-revived tactical first-person shooter Six Days in Fallujah has been embroiled in controversy since its inception for depicting a deadly battle during the Iraq War. Now, Publisher Victura is again defending its embattled title, saying developer Highwire Games is "not trying to make a political commentary" about the conflict. In an interview with Polygon , Victura head Peter Tamte said that the purpose of Six Days in Fallujah is to highlight "the complexity of urban combat" by putting players in the shoes of real-life Marine soldiers who must contend with the decisions made by people in power. "For us as a team, it is really about helping players understand the complexity of urban combat," Tamte said. "It's about the experiences of that individual that is now there because of political decisions. And we do want to show how choices that are made by policymakers affect the choices that [a Marine] needs to make on the battlefield. Just as that [Marine] cannot … [Read more...] about Six Days In Fallujah Publisher Says Game Isn’t “Political Commentary”
Watch Dogs: Legion’s Online Mode Has Been Delayed On PC
Watch Dogs: Legion PC players will have to be a little bit more patient before they explore London's boroughs with friends, as the game's online mode has been indefinitely delayed. Ubisoft revealed that certain GPUs were causing several game-crashing bugs, resulting in the delay. "We've identified an issue in the PC version that can cause the game to crash for players with certain GPUs," Ubisoft posted on Twitter . "The team is working on fixing the issue as quickly as possible, and in the meantime, we've made the decision to wait to launch the PC version until this is fixed. We will communicate the launch date as soon as possible." Ubisoft didn't reveal which GPU was causing problems for the online mode or an exact timeframe for when the fix will be applied, but the multiplayer will still arrive on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5 on March 9.
