Developer People Can Fly is looking at ways to support Outriders after launch, and it's focusing on "big expansion packs" that avoid the "game as a service monetization" which drip-feeds content. We spoke with creative director Bartosz Kmita and lead game designer Piotr Nowakowski last year, and their comments have only become more relevant since the game's release. Outriders launched to such demand that its servers were swamped for several days, so there's a pretty clear appetite for the game. Kmita previously told us that People Can Fly has always hoped to support the game after launch in a way that suits players and the studio, and that it would base its post-launch plans on the response to the game. "We would love to make more adventures, more things for the franchise, more things for the planet," Kmita said. "We spent a lot of time creating the very deep lore for this game, so it would be awesome to continue this adventure. But this is of course up to players. If … [Read more...] about Outriders devs considering “big expansion packs” but want to avoid “game as a service monetization”

Hearthstone’s latest expansion goes live with queue errors and Classic pack bugs
Hearthstone's latest expansion, Forged in the Barrens , is now live in all regions, and unfortunately it's not going as smoothly as fans had hoped. Players have been running headlong into a rather bad bug that's preventing them from queuing for ranked games in Standard and Wild, and Blizzard has also disabled Classic pack opening because of another bug related to card drops. It's still possible to get into games because the bug preventing queuing doesn't come up all the time, just quite a bit of the time. Unfortunately, it impacts not just multiplayer games but practice games against the AI as well, and there also appears to be a problem with decks in some game modes, as you can see in the image below, captured by our own Hearthstone expert Tim Clark. Clark, who really ought to be working, tells me things have been improving gradually, although things are definitely still intermittent—your mileage may vary from moment to moment. Some community members are claiming that Golden … [Read more...] about Hearthstone’s latest expansion goes live with queue errors and Classic pack bugs
Satisfactory Update 4 hits Early Access, brings hover packs, ziplines, drones, and more
Satisfactory players waited a year for Update 4, a major addition to the Early Access building game that included programmable drones, ziplines, and a giant freaking particle accelerator. When Update 4 was released to Satisfactory's experimental branch back on March 16 I went on a big tour of the new features with game director Mark Hofma. Anyone could opt-in to play the buggier experimental version of the game, but now you don't have to do that to get a piece of Update 4—it's live on the main Early Access build as of today. Coffee Stain already talked through all of Update 4's big new additions last month, but the new video above is still a joy for the Satisfactory-obsessed. It shows off the new features along with delightful close-up shots of constructors constructing and conveyor belts conveying and all the other cool things factories do. I could really watch the animation in this game all day. I've actually been doing a lot of that for the past month on the experimental … [Read more...] about Satisfactory Update 4 hits Early Access, brings hover packs, ziplines, drones, and more
Here’s when you’ll be able to play Immortals Fenyx Rising’s third and final DLC pack, The Lost Gods
Immortals Fenyx Rising third and final DLC pack, The Lost Gods, will release on April 22. Expected to change up Immortals in a big way with top-down "god's eye" exploration and brawler combat, the new story chapter introduces us to Ash, who travels to Pyrite to find and unite the gods, including Poseidon and Hades, who fled Olympos way back at the beginning of the main story quest. This is the final planned DLC pack for Ubisoft's Greek odyssey. At the beginning of this year, A New God kicked off the expansion offerings with legendary trials based around the Greek Gods, and just a few weeks back, Myths of the Eastern Realm DLC – inspired largely by Chinese mythology – dropped, too. In Myths of the Eastern Realm , you play as Ku who's on a journey for the Goddess Nawa to restore the balance between heaven and Earth. In his quest to save humanity, Ku encounters ancient Chinese deities, battle ferocious new monsters, and experience new puzzle mechanics like directing the … [Read more...] about Here’s when you’ll be able to play Immortals Fenyx Rising’s third and final DLC pack, The Lost Gods
New Ant-Man trailer packs in action and laughs: watch now
It may feature a teeny hero, but the new Ant-Man trailer is big on thrills, laughs and cool-looking miniature scraps. While Marvel's previous trailer for the film was low on content thanks to the beleaguered production schedule, this new trailer more than makes up for that. "I want you to break into a place and steal something," says Michael Douglas as he hires Paul Rudd's ex-con to become a new superhero. It's all very tongue-in-cheek, hinting this will be one of the funniest films Marvel has released so far. But sandwiched between Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War , there's a risk Ant-Man could feel like the forgotten Marvel film sneaking in at the end of Phase 2, which is why Hank Pym's line "If you give godlike powers to everyone, it's gonna be chaos" is so interesting. Could the events of Ant-Man further fuel the flames that lead to the Superhero Registration Act in Civil War ? Regardless, sounds like Hank Pym would be on Tony Stark's side. … [Read more...] about New Ant-Man trailer packs in action and laughs: watch now
