Netflix has announced that a Terminator anime series is in the works from The Batman co-writer Mattson Tomlin and famed Ghost in the Shell studio Production I.G. The Terminator anime series doesn't have a title or release date yet, but Tomlin described it as a series that "breaks conventions, subverts expectations, and has real guts." Tomlin is an up-and-coming screenwriter known for the Netflix superhero movie Project Power starring Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and for his work as co-writer on The Batman series starring Robert Pattinson. Production I.G is a veteran studio known for animating a massive list of anime series, films, and video games. Some of the studio's most notable work is seen in the Ghost in the Shell series, Psycho-Pass, and Persona 5. "I asked my long-time friend and colleague Mamoru Oshii what he thought about the idea of turning Terminator into an animated series," said Production I.G president and CEO Mitsuhisa Ishikawa. "His response was … [Read more...] about Terminator anime series coming to Netflix from The Batman writer

Sony has been saying for a while that it wants PlayStation 4 to take us back in time to a more innocent kind of gaming, but I didn't realise they meant it so literally until I played Knack, an old-fashioned platform brawler where you run around double-jumping and mashing buttons to punch goblins and robots until they flicker out of view. Almost completely linear and framed by a third-person camera over which you have no control, Knack is a series of fights that box you into small arenas until you kill all your enemies, at which point a forcefield is removed so you can continue. These fights are broken up by basic platform sections where you dodge through traps. There are ice and lava levels, along with forests where you punch owls and spiders, and in the end I was surprised the developers didn't just go the whole hog and throw in a mine cart ride. All of this is set up by a simple story about goblins attacking humans. Built out of prehistoric relics by an inventor everyone just … [Read more...] about Knack review

Much like the increasingly gamified world of dating apps, our favorite hobby is awash with RPGs depicting romance as little more than glorified fetch quests - relationships unlocked via an in-game bar to be filled. But what happens once all the flirting ends? Enter The Game Baker's romance-themed co-op RPG, Haven. Sporting a striking art style reminiscent of achingly cool Image Comics’ series, Saga, this intergalactic adventure tells the story of two star-crossed lovers, stranded on a strange planet. Refreshingly, this isn’t a game about making two virtual avatars get the hots for each other. Instead, Haven starts mid-way through our joint protagonists’ relationship, bypassing the honey mood period and allowing players to navigate a proper, pre-existing partnership – warts ‘n all. The names of our pixelized paramours? Yu and Kay. Combining the soothing exploration of Thatgamecompany’s Journey with the turn-based combat of an old school JRPG, Haven’s gameplay mirrors the unbreakable … [Read more...] about Have you tried… keeping a relationship afloat on a new planet with Haven?
CD Projekt Red is delaying the planned 1.2 patch for Cyberpunk 2077 . In a series of tweets, the studio explained that the recent cyberattack combined with the "extensive scope of the update" means it will need more time. "Our goal for Patch 1.2 goes beyond any of our previous updates," the studio states. "We've been working on numerous overall quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure that's what you get. With that in mind, we're now aiming for release in the second half of March." This update appears to have been the major patch that was previously slated for February, making the new late-March target constitute a delay of roughly a month. While we dearly wanted to deliver Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 in the timespan we detailed previously, the recent cyber attack on the studio’s IT infrastructure and extensive scope of the update mean this unfortunately will not happen — we’ll need some additional time. 1/3 — Cyberpunk 2077 (@CyberpunkGame) … [Read more...] about Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Delayed Due To Recent Cyberattack
