Leaked update notes suggest Glacial, Magnetic and Mossy lures are coming to Pokemon Go. That’s according to proven Pokemon dataminer Chrales, who uncovered text descriptions for the elemental lure modules in a Tweet this Monday. It looks like these themed new lures will work similarly to existing lure modules. Plug them into a Pokestop and (hopefully) experience thirty minutes of crowded capturing. These new lures look to add a bit more control by being extra attractive to certain types of Pokemon. Glacial Lures bring out the ice-types, Magnetic lures the electric-types, Mossy for grass. Simple enough. But it also appears elemental lures can potentially cause “some Pokemon to evolve”. What that means in practice isn’t clear, but suggests that bringing certain types near their associated lures could make it easier to push for evolution. This could also mean the introduction of Eevee’s elemental evolutions Leafeon and Glaceon to the game. A Pokemon Go lawsuit that was filed against Niantic in 2016 has finally come to an end via settlement. The suit was bought to trial by a New Jersey resident. According to reports, the next court hearing for the case will be a preliminary approval of the settlement. The hearing stretches all the way back to 2016 when Jeffrey Marden filed the suit against Niantic after the game had been out for a month. The New Jersey resident claimed that Pokemon Go had caused players to repeatedly knock on his door for permission to catch a Pokemon located on his property. The claim was based on the game causing a “continuing invasion” on his property and has been disputed for almost two years. Though reports from the BBC (via gamesindustry.biz) suggest that the suit has now been put to rest, the figure that both Niantic and Marden have settled on remains an undisclosed one. And with reports suggesting that the next case hearing, scheduled for February 28, has been changed to a preliminary … [Read more...] about Niantic Has Settled in the Pokemon Go Lawsuit
report this adThis year at BlizzCon, many fans were upset (to say the least) about the announcement of Diablo Immortal, which will be a mobile version of one of Blizzard’s biggest franchises, Diablo. Recently, it was revealed that Diablo Immortal is in fact not the only Blizzard game that is getting ported for mobile. According to a new report, Blizzard is currently also working on a mobile version of its most popular franchise, World of Warcraft, which will be similar to the augmented reality game, Pokemon GO. There are not many details on the Pokemon GO version of World of Warcraft yet, but people who have tested the Warcraft mobile game thus far say that it has a lot more to it than Pokémon GO, including single-player mechanics. If one takes into consideration the massive revenue that Pokemon GO generated, it is not surprising that Blizzard is exploring mobile games as a possible avenue, but based on the reaction to Diablo Immortal, many hardcore PC … [Read more...] about Blizzard Working on Warcraft Game Similar to Pokemon GO
Niantic’s hit mobile game Pokemon GO has taken the world by storm. In the 18 or so months that it has been available, Pokemon GO has made over $1 billion and it has also renewed the interest in AR (augmented reality) games which use a smartphone camera to interact and find fun in the world around us. Because of that interest, plenty of developers and major entertainment brands have gotten in on the AR gaming scene. The latest big brand to get in on the AR mobile game trend is Ghostbusters. Today, Sony Pictures Entertainment Consumer Products, Ghost World, and publisher FourThirtyThree Inc. announced Ghostbusters World which is described as an “all-new state-of-the-art augmented reality game.” A teaser trailer and the accompanying blurb seem to suggest that the game will just be Pokemon GO with ghosts: “Gameplay will enable players to battle and capture hundreds of ghosts from all dimensions of the franchise, including the films, TV shows, comic books, theme … [Read more...] about Ghostbusters World Looks Like Pokemon GO, With Ghost Catching
Pokemon GO has had a fairly steady stream of new Pokemon added to the game recently, but developer Niantic shows no signs of slowing down. Fans of the mobile game have now discovered hints that at least two more Gen 3 Pokemon are being prepared for release. Redditor Chrales has discovered recent changes to Pokemon GO‘s Game Master configuration file which reveal changes to two Pokemon. Niantic’s developers have tweaked Vibrava’s dodge mechanic and Loudred’s moveset, swapping out charge move Crunch for Stomp. Both changes are relevant due to the fact that neither Pokemon is yet available in the game. This likely indicates that Niantic is testing and potentially finalizing the two Pokemon before their release. It’s worth noting that the two middle-evolution Pokemon still lack image assets, so it may be some time yet before they’re actually available to be caught in-game. However, the recently released Kyogre also underwent similar tweaks prior to its … [Read more...] about Pokemon GO Adding More Gen 3 Pokemon Soon?
