Sega announcedearlier this yearit would be bringing Dreamcast games to the Xbox 360 and PS3. While only a handful of actual worthwhile titles in the Dreamcast's discarded history actually come to mind, it's still cool to see the "Virtual Console" atmosphere that was first kicked off by the Wii continue to fill up. … [Read more...] about Sonic Adventure, the only good 3D Sonic game, hits XBLA on September 15

The cycle of hope and disappointment begins anew, as Sonic Adventure 3’s existence is possibly leaked
Still. it's not a ludicrous assumption that a third game might be coming. After all, Sega has been on a massive Dreamcast nostalgia-drive recently, with a whole bunch of DC ports turning up on XBLA and the PSN. And let's face it, last year's Sonic Generations was basically a big interactive poster for the good old days, when Sonic wasn't just a hateful harbinger of disappointment and lament. … [Read more...] about The cycle of hope and disappointment begins anew, as Sonic Adventure 3’s existence is possibly leaked

The entire 2K line of sports releases did so well on the Dreamcast that it outlived the system and still thrives today, and that line was backed up by fellow first party hits like Virtua Tennis and Sega Rally. It works so well in practice, at least in the short snippet I’ve played. Grab the demo on Steam now and see for yourself. … [Read more...] about The top 10 games on PC in January
Hood: Outlaws and Legends aims for a darker twist on the Prince of Thieves with its bloody, brutal multiplayer heists
It’s here where Hood’s tension and thrills lie. Thanks to each game’s randomized elements and unpredictable AI, Hood will offer a fresh-feeling experience each time. This brings us to the classic “shit goes sideways” section, as Willians elaborates. "As soon as you pick up that treasure chest, we move to phase three: extraction. This is all about getting out of dodge. Now the treasure chest itself is really heavy - so it's not something that you just bank, you've got to carry it with both hands. One character – the brawler, John - is a huge tank, so he can pick it up and walk fastest when carrying the treasure chest. Any character can [carry the chest], you've just got to work out tactically what's best, then attempt to head to one a number of different extraction zones within the map.” … [Read more...] about Hood: Outlaws and Legends aims for a darker twist on the Prince of Thieves with its bloody, brutal multiplayer heists
