Let us now praise the poets of the watermelon. There is Frida Kahlo, who arranged them like architecture, a strange city of watermelons, one particular example etched with the words, Viva La Vida, a sentiment so joyous not even Coldplay could ruin it. There is Ricky Jay, the conjurer, actor, writer, historian of magic, who could fling playing cards with such deadly speed that their 52 polite razor edges would pierce the thick, "pachydermous hide" of "his majesty", shining and green on Broadway or on the set of the Johnny Carson show. And now we must add Fruit Ninja. A hush and that hollow popping noise, a T-shirt cannon has fired off-screen and then the watermelon is tumbling before us. "His majesty" is not the half of it. Are we in space? Are we orbiting, circling, caught in some endless Kubrick freefall, upwards and around? Behold nature's panzered blimp: its outside speaks of snakes and camouflage and armour. Its inside, once the blade has sung and fairly scorched the mineral air, … [Read more...] about Fruit Ninja+ is as wonderful as it always was

By rebalancing Galactic Readiness, Mass Effect Legendary Edition has given me a reason to return
I've been searching for an excuse to save the galaxy from annihilation (again). While Mass Effect Legendary Edition is an undeniable value proposition for those that missed out on the adventure the first time around – a modern recalibration of what is perhaps the greatest trilogy of games from the seventh generation – it should be acknowledged that defeating the Reapers is no easy feat. It's a time consuming process that I have endured once before, and had no plans to do again. Until now, that is. BioWare has revealed that Galaxy at War is being rebalanced and Galactic Readiness restructured for Legendary Edition, a result of the game's accompanying apps being pulled offline long ago and Mass Effect 3 multiplayer being cut from Legendary Edition. This decision might seem small, given the scope of this ambitious remaster, but it's enough to make me consider reinvesting my time into an adventure I was already content with completing almost a decade ago. Back in action Perhaps I … [Read more...] about By rebalancing Galactic Readiness, Mass Effect Legendary Edition has given me a reason to return
Warzone developer starts a GoFundMe for legal battle against Activision, who also have a game called Warzone
"Hello, my name is Randy, and I'm being sued by Activision for being an indie game developer." That's how Randy Ficker, creator of a browser and mobile game called Warzone, begins his GoFundMe page . Ficker and Activision are involved in a trademark dispute over the name Warzone as applied to a videogame , and things are getting heated. Ficker launched Warzone in 2017. Activision launched Call of Duty: Warzone in 2020. As Ficker says on his GoFundMe, "The law is clear: If you use a name in commerce before someone else, they can't sue you to get rights for that name." Meanwhile, Activision's complaint mentions that while Call of Duty: Warzone isn't available on mobile devices, "Defendant's Warzone is one of many games titled 'Warzone' that are available on the internet as a browser-based game or on mobile distribution platforms". It then goes on to list 16 examples. However, the ones simply called 'Warzone' all seem to post-date Ficker's game, while those released before … [Read more...] about Warzone developer starts a GoFundMe for legal battle against Activision, who also have a game called Warzone
PS5 Adds External Storage Support And More In First Big Console Update
Sony has finally updated the PlayStation 5 to allow for game storage on an external hard drive or SSD, bringing it more in line with its competition. The new PS5 system update, which is out now, lets you copy games off of your internal SSD to free up space for new downloads. It also includes a few other video changes that should provide a better game experience, especially on older games. Like the Xbox Series X|S, PS5 games stored on an external drive won't be playable until copied back to the internal SSD. Additionally, Sony says that new PS5 downloads will still require internal SSD space, since you won't be able to download games directly to an external drive in the same way that you can with PS4 titles. Despite this, it should save you time, since copying a game over from an external drive will be faster than redownloading it. With regards to internal SSD storage expansion , Sony reiterates that it is still working on support and that updates will be shared "in the future." … [Read more...] about PS5 Adds External Storage Support And More In First Big Console Update
