David Marquez describes his and Brian Michael Bendis' recent Justice League #59 as like "the first 10 minutes of when the title rolls in for a movie." Now that everyone's in their seats and the stage is set, the real "heart of the story," as Marquez says, begins. In April 20's Justice League #60 , the duo continues to staff up their new Justice League team with queen Hippolyta of the Amazons. She joins an already interesting line-up that includes other new recruits like Black Adam and Naomi for a story that'll criss-cross the known (and unknown) worlds of the DC Omniverse. Destinations include the mysterious homeworld of Naomi, and on a more conceptual level, a crossover with Justice League Dark. Ahead of the next issue, Newsarama spoke with Bendis and Marquez about the impending crossover, its ties to the Checkmate limited series, big changes for Green Arrow, and a push for new characters - and some that only recently made their debut in Bendis' recently concluded … [Read more...] about Justice League has big changes coming for Green Arrow – and new truths for Naomi

Falcon And The Winter Soldier Episode 5 Recap: What We Learned From “Truth” And What’s Coming Next
We've reached the penultimate episode of Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which means the series finale is just one week away. Still, despite the clock rapidly ticking down, we've got plenty of mysteries and unanswered questions left swirling around the show to dig into--so many, in fact, that there's a real chance we may not get resolutions for all of them in only one episode. But the potential for a second season or any number of spin-off shows or movie cameos for the cast remains on the table, of course. This is the MCU, after all. This week picked up in the aftermath of John Walker's homicidal meltdown. After a knock-down-drag-out fight, Sam and Bucky were able to wrangle the shield from him leaving him to return to the US for court martial. Walker is given an "other than honorable" discharge and basically left to slink off with his tail between his legs--that is until a mysterious newcomer, Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), arrives to make Walker a … [Read more...] about Falcon And The Winter Soldier Episode 5 Recap: What We Learned From “Truth” And What’s Coming Next

Resident Evil HD Remaster review
Was Resident Evil misclassified? Returning to the game that popularised the genre term 'survival horror' 19 years after its original release invites the question. Sure, Spencer Mansion's warren of corridors and alcoves is riddled with tenacious horrors. There are hardy zombies that won't stay down unless you drench the corpse in gasoline and take a flame to its rags. There are rabid Doberman that round corners at full pelt. There are mad bees and hellish crows not to mention terror snakes and spiders seemingly imported straight from Greek myth. Yes, the game makes good on its horror promise. Meanwhile, ensuring the survival of your protagonist - you choose between local special force operatives Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine at the start - is an ever-present theme (albeit no more than in any other video game). But 'survival horror' is not the game's principle theme. Rather, most of your stay here is spent solving puzzles. Resident Evil has the appearance of a lost George A. … [Read more...] about Resident Evil HD Remaster review

The mythic Chinatown of crime noir is getting a dose of real-life thanks to a new comic book series called The Good Asian. Writer Pornsak Pichetshote ( Infidel ) teams with artist Alexandre Tefenkgi ( Outpost Zero ) on a nine-issue series that explores the history and struggle of Asian-Americans in the first half of the 20th century through the lens of crime noir.
