Publisher Kalypso Media has wanted to return to the turn-based tactical RPG Disciples franchise for years, despite the lack of any new entry in the series for over a decade. The niche franchise is getting a surprise revival this year with Disciples: Liberation , revealed via a fairly gruesome trailer. "We always knew we wanted to continue the franchise and we have been ideating on the next game in the franchise for many years," Kalypso Media owner and managing director Simon Hellwig told me. "We also took our time finding the right developer and found the ideal match with Frima Studio." Disciples: Sacred Lands didn't grab too much of an audience; if Wayback Machine can be trusted, GameSpot awarded the first Disciples the "Best Game No One Played" award back when it came out in 1999. Its follow-up, 2002's Disciples II: Dark Prophecy , is a lot more popular, while 2010's Disciples III: Renaissance (which marked developer Strategy First's departure from the franchise) did … [Read more...] about Disciples: Liberation Has Been An Idea “For Many Years,” It Just Needed The Right Developer

Intel gaming GPU rumours suggest six Xe cards coming in 2021
A new specs list for the upcoming Intel Xe DG2 graphics cards has popped up on Twitter, shared by the usual tweetering suspects. It does feel a little like extrapolated data mixed with speculation based on prior leaks and rumours. Some sort of rumour mill round-robin, if you will. There are ruder ways to explain it, but I'm going to rise above. The listed numbers here seem logical, given the more reliable end of the specification speculations, and with the Intel Xe DG1 and Tiger Lake's Iris Xe GPU silicon already out in the wild. The listing highlights six different variants of Intel's prospective discrete graphics card, though I'm a little sceptical about all of those options actually making it out into the market. Problem solved. Intel DG2 spec list? https://t.co/yDktxcRdHz February 25, 2021 See more The most recent noises we've heard from any sort of Intel official channel came from the drivers Intel dropped back in January . These listed support for a 128 EU … [Read more...] about Intel gaming GPU rumours suggest six Xe cards coming in 2021
Pokemon Legends: Arceus looks to be the open world evolution we’ve always dreamt of
Nintendo does a panning shot better than just about anyone else in the games industry. A lone adventurer standing center frame, their attention locked on a distant horizon as the camera shifts slowly behind them to reveal a lush, sprawling world. It was used to great effect in the debut trailer for Breath of the Wild , as Nintendo unveiled a spellbinding overhaul of The Legend of Zelda. And now, Game Freak has followed suit as it showcases Pokemon Legends: Arceus – a long overdue shake up of the formula that the developer has gradually iterated on for 25 years. As a tool, the execution of these framing shots is so successful because it ignites the imagination. It invites players to dream up new opportunities that they hadn't dared to before, and conjure up experiences that they have only been able to dream of until now. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a new breed of adventure for Pokemon trainers, and it's been a long time coming. "Pokemon Legends: Arceus represents a new approach for … [Read more...] about Pokemon Legends: Arceus looks to be the open world evolution we’ve always dreamt of
Persona 5 Strikers Tips – 13 Things You Need To Know Before Starting
Persona 5 Strikers isn't your typical musou action game. There are familiar elements like tearing down mobs of enemies in wild "one-versus-100" style combat. But this game takes many of the gameplay mechanics from the Atlus RPG and fuses them with Omega Force's high-octane action template. Strikers also sticks to its Persona roots by bringing some light life-sim mechanics, but with some tweaks that might take some getting used to. For various reasons, it can be a lot to take in whether this is your first musou game or first Persona experience. Here, I've compiled a list of tips to help guide you through Persona 5 Strikers. While there are plenty of tutorials that establish the basics of the game, figuring out how to best approach the game's many facets is another challenge. Much of this guide involves the intricacies of being effective in combat, but there are other features you'll want to use properly like the Bond system and persona fusion. For more on this action-based … [Read more...] about Persona 5 Strikers Tips – 13 Things You Need To Know Before Starting

Baldur's Gate 3 , which is still in early access, has gotten its next big patch. Patch 4 is the largest update that developer Larian Studios has pushed live in its RPG to date. "The short version is, we've split large pak files into smaller chunks." The patch notes for Patch 4 are massive . Before diving into it, I'd recommend grabbing a bag of chips, maybe a beverage or two as well. You're going to be … [Read more...] about Baldur’s Gate 3’s Biggest Update So Far Is Live, Patch 4 Adds Druid Class And Loaded Dice
