Valheim player builds a car bed so their Viking can sleep faster

A Valheim player has created their very own car bed for their Viking to retire to every night, and in a truly just world it would max out the local Comfort rating all by itself. Reddit user Ganginati shared their creation on the Valheim subreddit, offering multiple screenshots for several angles on their marvelous creation. The Viking car bed combines all of the practicality of a standard Valheim bed - which serves as a spawn point and lets you pass the time at night - with the verve and vigor of an adult car bed, like Milhouse's dad after he got divorced in The Simpsons. My Viking Car Bed from r/valheim Ok, not like that - that was sad. This is cool . The entire thing is made with standard in-game items and wooden blocks, with a pair of burning torches for the taillights, glowing yellow mushrooms for the headlights, and a menacing Drake trophy for the hood ornament. The perfect finishing touch is the wooden shields for the wheels, making the whole build look like … [Read more...] about Valheim player builds a car bed so their Viking can sleep faster

Why Nier: Replicant had to be made, and why it’s “so much more than a simple version up”

More than ten years after its original release, cult classic JRPG Nier Replicant is being rebuilt for modern hardware. Debuting on PS3, Nier originally followed a father's quest to cure his ailing young daughter Yonah. Now Nier returns reimagined as a previously Japan-exclusive teen protagonist and his journey to heal Yonah – now his sister – has been extensively retooled. Nier Replicant producer, Yosuke Saito, tells us, "The base of the story is the same, but the differences in setting change the style and content of dialogue, so I think that the biggest appeal is the difference in emotional experiences." As for the other changes, Saito says, "I believe that [original director] Yoko Taro was being modest when he decided to call it a Version Up." He elaborates, "Character and background designs were all revamped. […] Some scenarios cut from the original have been added. Character dialogue is now fully voiced, and the popular music has all been given new arrangements and … [Read more...] about Why Nier: Replicant had to be made, and why it’s “so much more than a simple version up”

Capcom’s reliance on timed, limited demos are a relic from a bygone era

Capcom has always had a strange affinity for timed demos. The publisher has been experimenting with trials that limit access in some way for as long as I can remember downloading demos on console, as the functionality of the Xbox Live Marketplace began to gradually replace the need for cover-mounted disks on print media magazines. If the Resident Evil Village demo arrangement has proven anything, it's that this method of hype generation feels like a hangover of a bygone era With Resident Evil Village set to launch on May 7, Capcom unveiled a somewhat convoluted method of demo distribution. Across two weekends in April, PlayStation players are afforded an eight-hour window to play through two 30 minute demos – spend any longer lingering in or around Castle Dimitrescu and you'll be booted back to the menu, encouraged to pre-order the game, and forced to turn to external sources to see what you missed . For the first weekend in May, PC and Xbox owners will be able to play … [Read more...] about Capcom’s reliance on timed, limited demos are a relic from a bygone era

Michael Keaton Will Play Batman In The Flash, Publicist Says

Rumors have been swirling since last June that the upcoming Flash film is set to go the way of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, with two version of Batman appearing in the film. After speculation and some recent doubt, Keaton is now set to reprise his role as Batman in The Flash , according to TheWrap . Michael Keaton's talent agency, ICM Partners, confirmed to TheWrap that Keaton will indeed appear in the film. While rumors started back in June, Keaton himself threw all that into doubt in a March interview with Deadline . There, Keaton said the "COVID situation in the UK" would "determine everything." The actor said that the pandemic was informing all of his decisions for upcoming roles. "Is this thing going to kill me, literally? And you know, if it doesn't, then we talk," Keaton had said. Keaton first played Batman in the 1989 eponymous film, which was one of the very first superhero films and the first superhero blockbuster. The Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti, … [Read more...] about Michael Keaton Will Play Batman In The Flash, Publicist Says

The Flash Movie Casts Sasha Calle As Supergirl

The Flash movie has its Supergirl--and the casting is historic, as Sasha Calle will be the first Latina actress to portray the character. The Flash director Andy Muschietti revealed the casting on social media, where he posted a video of himself telling the actress she'd gotten the part. Calle, who is Colombian, is best known for her role on the long-running soap opera The Young and the Restless over the last few years. In the video, Muschietti calls her apparently under the pretense of needing to ask some follow-up questions, but the actress begins to realize something is up when he opens with "Can you fly?" Calle breaks down into happy tears after the director tells her, "You're Supergirl."
